John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 Tiny Tim (5IP 6K 1.80 ERA) gets an MLB save For Hurl's sake, and the eyesight of anyone unlucky enough to see the result of that, I hope not.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 Smoak hits 40 HR. Tulo and Travis combine for more than 200 games. Morales squeaks into positive baserunning value. Donaldson gets hurt on day 2, gone for the season.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 Morales suspended for roids. Borouki better season than Aaron Sanchez. Aaron Sanchez +4BB/9. Estrada ERA over 5.00 Byron Buxton top3 mvp
jimedmonds Verified Member Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 - Acuna and Ohtani actually win ROY awards - Houston repeat as WS champions - Phillies actually become a respectable 70+ win team and more teams will try to emulate Kapler's unconventional methods - Vlad Jr. becomes the undisputed best player not in the MLB - Bichette and Pearson take big steps forward this season - Alford becomes a regular contributor while Pompey is no longer with the organization - Donaldson, Estrada, and Happ are traded before the deadline - Jays win 75-80 games - All Stars: Osuna, Sanchez, Donaldson - Hernandez has an 800+ OPS season - Estrada and Happ regress even further - Bautista retires at the end of the season

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 Morales squeaks into positive baserunning value. This is really bold. I'm not even sure it's physically possible.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 Tiny Tim (5IP 6K 1.80 ERA) gets an MLB save ^^ this guys REALLY wants to see Hurl do a naked lap around RC
SAAviour Verified Member Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 -Jays are 2 games under .500 July 25th and begin a fire sale to the horror of casuals. -Tulo plays less then 30 games and is effectively finished as a player. -Alford takes Pillars job. -Smoak turns back into Smoak. -Sanchez and Stroman are best 1-2 punch in baseball. -Ohtani is a disaster and should be sent to minors. Labour dispute starts over fact his 6 year extension agreed to before signing isn’t followed through with by Angels at mid season. -Houston wins 110 games.
jimedmonds Verified Member Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 I don't feel like any of those are bold predictions. of course they are - are we working under the premise that each of these 'bold predictions' are evaluated discretely? that's nonsensical as per the broken clock, twice a day phenomenon. but pretty bold if all twelve of those predictions come to fruition this season.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 of course they are - are we working under the premise that each of these 'bold predictions' are evaluated discretely? that's nonsensical as per the broken clock, twice a day phenomenon. but pretty bold if all twelve of those predictions come to fruition this season. So you are running a 12 bet parlay and calling it one bold prediction? Okay.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 This is really bold. I'm not even sure it's physically possible. It's definitely bold but with Luis Rivera at the helm it's possible. All it takes is a couple of brutal sends in what would be obvious gundown situations with bad throws along with a lot of doubles for him to squeak into positive territory.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 So you are running a 12 bet parlay and calling it one bold prediction? Okay. He basically just gave the projections with some error bars.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 Smoak will have better power numbers than Judge (SLG/HR/RBI) The Republicans will do surprisingly well at the mid-terms and Trump will do lots of winning Donaldson will not get traded and will play out his contract The previous two points will cause Jim to go insane and his only coping mechanism will be to spam the board with asinine Jays-25-man-roster-for-prospects trade scenarios.

Very, very bold.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 Jim is already insane. That's neither bold nor a prediction.
Governator Community Moderator Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 Kevin Pillar will hit the 60d DL

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 Smoak hits 40 HR. Tulo and Travis combine for more than 200 games. Morales squeaks into positive baserunning value. Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 - Vlad Jr "disappoints" in AA with a sub.-800 OPS and eats himself off 3B *edits post*
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 -Granderson + Pearce/Teoscar/others platoon puts up a 4+ win season - lol nope -Aledmys Diaz + Solarte put up 3.5 wins covering for Tulo and Travis - was half right, Diaz was good as Tulo never played, Solarte was horrendous after a hot start -Aaron Sanchez is healthy but complete garbage, walks for days - Sanchez wasn't healthy so this doesn't apply (he was garbage though) -Tim Mayza establishes himself as the second/third best reliever on the team (depending on matchup). Oh is the other, instant fan favourite - right on both, Oh was our second best reliever after Osuna/Giles, Mayza was our third despite limited time in the bigs -All of LoMo/Yonder Alonso/Smoak put up 120+ wRC+ seasons again - not close, only Smoak was a 120 wRC+ bat -Aaron Judge regresses to put up a ~115 wRC+ with a K rate hovering or surpassing 35%, his defense will be bad. Put Gary Sanchez along the same lines here. Stanton on the other hand cruises past 60 HR and is awesome again (ugh), Brandon Drury will inexplicably have a 3 win season - wrong on Judge who was awesome again, right on Sanchez not being good, wrong on Stanton lol, wrong on current Blue Jay Brandon Drury -Matt Chapman is a top 5 third baseman by season's end - called it! -Ohtani is 2015 Trevor Bauer as a pitcher, ~75 wRC+ as a hitter with good power but ultimately overmatched and hurt by the infrequent plate appearances - wow this was bad Looking back at these.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 - Solarte & Diaz are fat and both suck - Aaron Judge hits fewer than 30 HR - Luis Severino needs TJS - Josh Donaldson misses 50+ games and gets less than $100M in free agency; does not re-sign with Jays - Vlad Jr "disappoints" in AA with a sub.-800 OPS and eats himself off 3B - Jays finish at exactly .500 and make no meaningful trades in either direction at the deadline 3/6 for me
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 - Mackenzie Gore is a consensus top 10 prospect when mid season prospect lists come out. - Trea Turner steals 60 bags and hits 20 HR's - Garrett Cooper get's selected 2nd overall in one of the dynasty waiver drafts - Bluejays make the playoffs - Devon Travis makes the all star game - SF Giants when the world series over the Astros - Jon Lester rebounds and puts up a 4+ fWAR season. lol!
