Maybe stadiums should have a dumbass night or something. After the game, anyone dumb and drunk enough to take a bet to go streaking **cough Hurl** can do so with no legal consequences.

Found this tidbit from a Jeff Blair article... it was mentioned on PTS just a few minutes ago, this is stupid if true.

 

• If the chatter is true, this could very well be John Gibbons’ final homestand as Blue Jays manager. Bench coach DeMarlo Hale will replace him on an interim basis and next year’s manager will need to be: 1. analytically savvy and 2. speak Spanish fluently #justthefacts

Taking a bet is different than making a statement to show how stupid you think people are and having everyone attempt to hold you to your word. Only to be correct all along.

 

What was always meant to be said was that he would never be a closer. Regardless I am prepared to do it correctly in a way to promote the board without being arrested.

I think Mark Derosa would be a good hire. Having a blanket statement like the Manager must know Spanish is stupid. Take the best person for the job regardless.

 

Hire another translator if you really want.

That's assuming that he WANTS to continue as manager.

 

Yeah the only way I accept this is if Gibby wants out. Then again, Blair is almost in Marty York territory these days.

Not that I have a problem with Gibby or anything but I’m kinda curious what happened to the forum that majority of people here like Gibby now?

I seem to recall a year or two ago that everyone wanted him out.

That was Gibby 1.0. The 2015 version was so bad he wanted me to rip out whatever was left of my hair.

 

Since Shatkins took over he’s been noticebaly better, and harmless overall.

Absolutely. He's made a lot of great decisions since then. I think we're last in sacrifice bunt attempts for example.

Before he came back on board with the Jays i thought he was managing in his home town (some minor league team) and they did an interview and he said that he would want to go back there at the tail end of his career. So maybe thats what he is thinking. Who knows.

Friend of mine just got one...

 

That's awesome. Most jerseys go out of style, are over owned, etc. A Gibby one would forever be a classic.
