gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 And not totally 'selfless' as he gets 2 RBI on the play instead of 1 if the runner is cut down at the plate. As far as it being a lucky bloop single, well he was at .284 BABIP on the season going in so maybe due for a lucky one. Pearce is only .250 and Travis is just dreadful at .179. What's a typical league average BABIP ? I'm not really sure what league average is for BABIP, but there many here that will know. As far as Travis goes, he sort of deserves the low BABIP because he hasn't been squaring up too many balls so far this year.
Governator Community Moderator Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 .300 BABIP is the avg that things even out to.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Zaun just suggested the Indians should have walked Goins. With 2 outs. On live television. Ryan Goins. RYAN GOINS
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Zaun just suggested the Indians should have walked Goins. With 2 outs. On live television. Ryan Goins. RYAN GOINS So dumb.

No one "deserves" a sub .200 BABIP, even extreme flyball guys have their BABIP hanging around .230 - .250

RYAN GOINS The fact that my broadcast is entirely Zaun-free makes MLB.tv worth the cost all on its own. I don't remember the last time I've heard his voice.
wk680 Verified Member Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Around .300, but for hitters it's tied a lot to their batted ball profile. I keep scratching my head wondering is Travis just unlucky so far this season, because the percentages ground/line/fly and soft/med/hard contact as broken down on fangraphs don't seem to explain the low average.

RYAN GOINS I was on the subway this past weekend and i was sitting next to this guy and he was telling stories to his buddy. I guess he works security at the rogers centre and he had a bunch of Zuan stories but the best one was apparently on the last 2 games of the season last year Zaun, him and the head of security would go back behind the backdrop which is apparently like a shed and take shots. He apparently was hammered on air for the final 2 games. There was also another story about him showing up 4 mins before they went live and no one knowing where he was, almost knocking out a fan, ect
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Stroman didn't get the results I t he first 2 batters...but I really like where his pitchers were and that he threw inside to both hitters

Unless his infield fly rate is through the roof, he's undoubtedly getting unlucky.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Terry Francona had a career -1.7 WAR. But you know, he was a heck of a player. He's so humble, he brushes it off and says "I wasn't that good."

bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Wow, I'm not sure if that was the right play but they got it done.
MunenoriKawasakiMVP Verified Member Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Stroman and double plays is the best love story of all time
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Wow, what a play by Goins. I thought for sure that was going into CF.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 There's the value Goins brings. Great footwork and to go along with a firm accurate toss to one.
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Lol stro lucky goins is a stud defender
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Wow, what a play by Goins. I thought for sure that was going into CF. Pitchers are so unreliable with those throws to second that start double plays. They're probably just not used to hitting a moving target.
