Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 It's hard not to laugh when seeing "if he stays healthy" and "Brandon Morrow" in the same sentence No. Offense to the guy I loved him but damn... I still strut around in my Morrow Jersey and i still thought he could be the man of a rotation... And i will never let it go.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Morrow was a very talented and likable Blue Jay. Hard to fault him for not having good health. Reading his name made me wonder about diabetic athletes in general. As usual, there's a Wikipedia entry for that. The list of diabetic athletes is longer than I realized and includes some very successful careers though it's possible that some of these athletes were only diagnosed very late of even after their careers were over. The article doesn't really give any clarifications on that. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_sportspeople_with_diabetes
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 He was my favourite pitcher for a while there too Sammy. I spent 3 straight years predicting a 20 win season and a no-hitter for him Neither happened

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 WILL Rogers Centre ever get to host it again I wonder??
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 WILL Rogers Centre ever get to host it again I wonder?? I don't think they want the game to be played on turf anymore. Some franchises have hosted it twice since the Jays last had it. The Rays have never hosted it at all.

I'd say the team not being very good, fans not that interested, being a Canadian team, and a stadium in desperate need of renovations as the more likely reasons. Tropicana is just a f***ing dump that nobody wan't to visit.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Did anyone listen to Cliff Floyd on Bobcat's show last night? It was easily the worst interview I've ever heard (Jeff Blair included!).
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Bit of an odd story: https://ca.yahoo.com/sports/news/seattle-area-burglary-suspect-arrested-while-wearing-felix-hernandezs-watch-001858984.html
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 I stumbled on it for like 10 seconds and it was so f***ing bad. I heard bobcat say "cybermetrics" and I changed the channel. Ahhh yes...good catch. I laughed when Bobcat threw out the cybermetrics. What a joke.

King Old-Timey Member Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Dillon Overton goes to the Mariners for Jason Goldstein, a 23 year old catcher who barely played last year in short season ball.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 I would have thought Shatkins would be in on some of these depth guys. Even OF depth like Jackson or Eibner. Kind of disappointed not gonna lie. Really hoping we can nab Pagan
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted January 27, 2017 Author Posted January 27, 2017 Really hoping we can nab Pagan Abom and some others have made a case for Coghlan too. Had a couple of solid years prior to last year's injuries. He can do some passable infield too from what I've heard.

Ray Verified Member Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Wonder if we have enough in the budget now for one of Moss/Pagan + one of Blevins/Logan. Prices are dramatically falling on guys at this point.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Shapiro's statement on payroll at the beginning of the offseason should answer that question with a yes. I'm sure they have a plan in mind and are just waiting for the best opportunity to present itself before acting. Patience was the way to go in this offseason and we did a pretty good job of it other than the Morales clusterf***.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Moss gets 2/$12 What an absolutely terrible place for him to land.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Moss gets 2/$12 Thats a song, great deal Wonder if they will DH him and outfield some. Perhaps deal Dyson.
