BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 With the season wrapped up, what were your favorite moments/memories of the 2016 season? Edwin's walk off against the 0's The Donaldson Dash on Odor's E Devon Travis's return to the field The last 2 games of the season in Fenway (one of which was an amazing start by Sanchez)
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 1. wild card win 2. odor punch 3. odor ending the rangers season. 4. our pitchers being better than anticipated
canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 1. Wild card game. 2. Donaldson Dash 3. Edwin Walk off 4. Odor can't make the throw. The worst feeling is knowing we cannot win this group and I don't think it's a easy fix
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 In addition to all the obvious ones, I'll add the near no hitter by Estrada at Fenway just because I was there
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 The worst feeling is knowing we cannot win this group and I don't think it's a easy fix The Jays will have one of the best if not the best WAR/$ projection for all 5 of their starters next year and it's October 19th. It's the envy of I'd say of at least 20 teams in the league with several key positions locked up on the diamond as well. Consider that along with a payroll that will be at least in the top half of the league, if not higher. I don't think it's that hard of a job for the FO to make this a competitive team next year.

Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 With the season wrapped up, what were your favorite moments/memories of the 2016 season? I went to Fenway the Saturday night where they won 4-3... Going into that game I was more depressed than I am right now. It was one of the most stressful games possible with Osuna blowing a save with a balk... unreal. However they scored in the 9th and won it.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Estrada's first start to the year The game against San Diego when Travis had a 14 pitch walk and walked-off on a wild pitch. 12-6 comeback against the Yankees 11-10 comeback over the Red Sox Happ wins his 20th game.

candymartinez Verified Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 s***** ending yes, but the playoffs are SUCH a crapshoot, every year seems to prove that more than the last. Last two seasons were so much fun. Hopefully they keep going and luck out one year.

Of their important players they are essentially losing 5 WAR in Bautista and EE. And that is mostly EE, Bautista (I do not believe) was on of their 12 best players this year.

Jonzo Verified Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 For me it's no question the WC game. I don't remember being that nervous before and during a sporting event, since the early 2000s Leafs runs. When EE hit that bomb, immediately off the bat, I woke up everyone in my home including my breast-feeding baby infant daughter, and zero f***s were given by me. Including when my wife bitched me out. Zero f***s.

Yorkshire Blue Jay Verified Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Good - WC, Texas sweep, Donaldson 3 homer game, Smoak 2 homer inc walkoff, Sanchez blossoming into an ace like pitcher! Bad - Hitting 2 grand slams at home in LOSSES to Boston, awful last home regular season game against Baltimore. Inability to get timely hits while Cleveland did just that in the ALCS.
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 The obvious ones: Eddy walk off and alds walk off Others that stand out is the walk off at home vs the red sox and padres edit: also have to mention watching the entire pitching staff, simply awesome all season
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Lots of good calls in here.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 (edited) I went to 5 games this year (4 with my 6 year old son). 1. 11-10 comeback v. Red Sox (Travis beats out throw from Shaw). Incredible game. My son's first ever Jays game. I'll never forget it. We rocked the rally caps late in the game and they actually worked. When you're 6 - magic is real and it was that day. 2. Canada Day game for my son's birthday. We lost, but it was an awesome day. The pre-game activities were awesome, the game was exciting and my son sat on the edge of his seat for 12 full innings before we had to bail to catch the train home. We decided that day we'll go to the Canada Day game every year now for his birthday. Bonding doesn't get much better than that. 3. 12:30 Wednesday afternoon start v. TB in September. Son took me for my birthday. 21st row behind home plate. Best seats I've ever had. Terrible ball game. A dud. 4. Wild Card game (only game I didn't take my son). Edwing. Enough said. Unreal. 5. Game 4 ALCS. Took my son to the aquarium before the game (nobody was there as it was a school day). Amazing place, amazing game. All in all - 4 of the 5 games I went to were simply amazing experiences. This is a year I won't soon forget. Edited October 20, 2016 by Brownie19

glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 ALDS (all three games) and WC game. The regular season is a bit of a blur to me.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Spanky connects with me and my fam to watch a Jays Win Running into Puig and Justin Turner at the Aquarium after a game with LAD. Chatted and they signed ball/hat for my son who pretty excited to see them in their civvies.
sg11 Verified Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Pretty much the whole month of October has been edge of seat baseball. The walk off WC win and ALDS were my favorite moments. The regular season seemed pretty dull in comparison to 2015 but all said and done it was a great year. Just imagine what could have been if the offense lived up to its hype and matched the spectacular pitching.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
