  1. Whoever did make the decision needs to be looking for a new job in the coming days. It smacks of a lack of flexibility or trust in your pitcher you invested seven years in. Similar to pulling Gausman last year with the big lead when you only pay him $25m
  2. Originating from the UK with a betting shop on every street corner. Betting has been a staple for those that wish to do so my entire life. Thankfully I have always seen it as a bit of fun, sadly that's not the case for every individual but there is more available help for people that need it these days. I am used to betting company adverts but the in-program betting updates are too much IMO. Sadly though in a relative new market there is much to fight for in a very lucrative business sector. You never see a poor bookmaker!
  3. One barely has to wonder why 2 teams, so far, have pushed the button to trade him, and a 3rd has released him. Instead of being 'me' as he describes it, maybe he should try to be someone others want to be on the same team as.
  4. Wishful thinking because it's not my money and Rogers needs to spend some.. 1) Grass 2) Escalators or moving walkways on 500 level ramps 3) Break up and relay base concrete steps for the seating rows in the movable 100 level to face the field (& home plate) while in Baseball configuration 4) Install the seating from the 200 level (more comfy than the TD level for me) throughout the stadium 5) Stadium feature of some sort in the 300 or 400 outfield with standing bar area similar to the flightdeck - Tulo's Terrace, Donaldson's deck or Pillar's porch!
  5. That inning in game 2 was crucial though, it changed the entire series onwards from that point - Price had retired 18 straight before Goins/Bautista allowed to popup to drop, we were cruising with a 3-0 lead, to leave KC level before the 3 straight home games would IMO have been the difference maker. From that point anything could have happened, as it was we crushed Cueto in game 3, like they did Dickey in game 4, then Estrada pitched his gem in game 5. Last year I could have envisaged us winning it all, this year, even if we had beaten Cleveland then I would have expected us to lose to the Cubs. that's another reason why 2015 hurts more!
  6. I've already received my ALCS game two stubhub payment through paypal
  7. If you had to pay for your individual tickets in full when purchasing and not via the 'full strip' instalment plan all monies should be refunded by ticketmaster. Last year, only fans who paid with an instalment plan had to request the refund of their payments before they were credited to their account.
  8. Good - WC, Texas sweep, Donaldson 3 homer game, Smoak 2 homer inc walkoff, Sanchez blossoming into an ace like pitcher! Bad - Hitting 2 grand slams at home in LOSSES to Boston, awful last home regular season game against Baltimore. Inability to get timely hits while Cleveland did just that in the ALCS.
  9. Once again a shocking decision to play indoor baseball by MLB, especially given that the forecast high in Cleveland for Friday and Saturday is 12 degrees. All set for an afternoon in the dome or the usual oven when the temps are high outside.
  10. The 500 level is usually just an excuse for most folk to get absolutely hammered the 8pm start didn't help matters, many were worse for wear before they got to the dome. Around me last night were families with young kids mixed in with hammered twenty somethings totally unaware of themselves and their behaviour. Within 2 of me rows up and down there were probably 2 dozen fans who would have been thrown out of an English soccer stadium had they exhibited that behaviour there. I swear it seems to have gotten progressively worse throughout this season and it means I won't be buying any seats in the 500s in future. I'm all for having a good time and enjoying yourself but someone somewhere needs to decide when some folk have had simply more drink that they can handle.
  11. Cecil loves to walk the only guy that he is put in the game for, first Davis on Tuesday and now Odor.
  12. Yeah I had that dilemma too, but I called today with my apologies and will be at the dome on Sunday evening and will take them out to make up for it another time.
  13. It's like TBS announcers are trying to paint a picture of cold damp air descending in the Rangers halves of the innings and miraculously lifts when we are batting and hitting balls into the outfield. They might have a point though, don't they say that the light shines on the righteous!
  14. The announcers called both of those fly outs with more excitement off the bat than Tulo's bomb
  15. Why exactly are Bannister and Lucroy rocking the shades today, I hope it's because Bannister knows we have them overmatched and wants to hide his tears
  16. The toilet rolls I saw (another soccer fans favourite) was coming from the hotel rooms.
  17. Absolutely this! He thought he had been smart and got away with it but now all the crap he is getting is his own fault for not only being an ass in the first place for throwing the can and then being a dumbass for thinking that no-one would be able to catch him in the act with all the cameras at the dome despite him using his slight of hand trick with his beer cup. Hell, the police appealed for him to turn himself in before they released his photo to try and identify him and now he's whinging about the social media zoo that he could have avoided. Coming from across the pond, the way video evidence in stadia is used extensively in court, everyone is aware that what they are doing is being recorded. Those doing nothing wrong have nothing to fear! In fact, if the incidents are not ongoing then it has a twofold benefit, there is no need for the police to fan the flames by trying to wade in and get the culprits in the usually alcohol fuelled heat of the moment. The police get to do their detective work using the in stadia video and cctv, identifying the suspects and they are then rudely awoken a few days later with a 5.30AM police knock to make an arrest.
  18. At the game I thought Bourn was going to make the catch too, so I can forgive Saunders (who was half way) retreating to tag up. That 90ft could have been critical had the out been made and most would have applauded if was able to move up on an out.
  19. Actually, I think he is better when the game and stage is bigger. He didn't let us down in the playoffs and he pitched tremendously the other saturday in the massive game against the Yankees. He didn't pitch too badly in his last start against Baltimore, that loss was solely down to our hitters' approach, which was just awful. I would have preferred the better matchup of Liriano against the O's but would have taken Stroman over Liriano for any other matchup!
  20. I disagree, he thinks we get shafted because we are Canadian and that's not the case, if it were, we wouldn't have had the better scheduled times in game 3 & 4 of the ALDS last year. I think everyone understands that the Jays have little or no pull for the US broadcasters, but playoff games are playoff games and unless our game clashes with huge market team's game then it doesn't seem to make a difference. The key is the Yankees and Boston will get preferential playoff scheduling over any other AL team. This scenario has played out the last 2 years in the first phase of playoff scheduling.
  21. I'll be there, got flex packs for the season in both mine and the wife's name, as she comes to the game with me. As a result, we were both granted the 12 seat allocation and thus we were able to buy 2 seats for each post season game in the initial allocation. Got 500's for tomorrow but managed to get some 200 level ones for other series games.
  22. New fan hahaha! Wah wah wah it's because we are Canadian! Is it, is it really? Let me help you out here...... It is simply because Boston gets better ratings than Texas, us or Baltimore - nothing to do with who are the division winners! If the Jays had been slated to play Boston in the ALDS (by them getting the no.1 seed) this year, we would have been the later games. Last year the games were scheduled at this time and we were the early game again - correct! ... you are saying it is because we are Canadian. You seem to forget that hosting the WC game last year was none other than the Yankees, so they were, surprise surprise, scheduled to be the later of the first 2 ALDS games (if they progressed - which of course they didn't) and our no.2 v no.3 seed matchup with Texas was therefore scheduled at the worst available time. And you claimed I had the short memory Once the Yankees were eliminated, why were we scheduled for the later ALDS game in games 3 (prime time sunday night slot) and 4 (Monday at 4.07 when Houston hosted KC with a 1.07 slot) if the US networks, as you originally stated, always shaft the Jays for being Canadian? It is all about the biggest draw and Boston/NY outdo any other AL clubs on that score thus their games (or even potential games) will always be scheduled at the better time for more viewing figures. But by all means, if you prefer, you can keep crying that it is all about the Jays being Canadian!
  23. Blame the Jays for not winning the division then it's hardly being shafted into the wildcard game. The Friday ALDS game is in a series that may not even feature us. Do you really think they did this because it may feature a Canadian team. Newsflash every decision is not made because the Blue Jays play in Canada - If Boston had been the No.1 seed, I guarantee we wouldn't have been scheduled as the lunchtime game.
  24. Texas will always be behind Boston/Cubs/Dodgers in terms of attractiveness for the TV viewers. If there is a game 4 then Texas will be the first game on Monday too, if it is against us it won't matter to us as its Thanksgiving. Karma for having a POS skipper like Bannister IMO
