Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Think of mods as a police force. Sometimes really bad things happen and the police are called to investigate and restore order (like the mods do in soooooo many GDT). Other times they deal with people crying wolf and just whining over a minor little issue and they try to calm people down and get them level again so the situation doesn't escalate. I also enjoy lording my power over you mere mortals... That may be just me...

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Cishek could be a real interesting guy to sign. Has closing experience, and shouldn't cost a ton.

I wonder if he even gets a guaranteed contract? He was awful this year. Would love to take a flier on him for almost nothing.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 The bench is kind of full now. LF - Revere 1B - Colabello 1B - Smoak inf - Goins OF - Saunders OF - Pompey Someone has to be shipped out to make room for a backup catcher. Yeah it's weird that they kept so many guys. I think most of us thought it would probably come down to something like Saunders OR Smoak. Starting to feel like the team could use a new GM sooner rather than later. I get that Shapiro could veto these moves if he wanted to but that doesn't mean that they aren't coming from LeCava. I understand the risk in putting all your eggs in one basket payroll wise but right now it seems like Lacava might be spreading the money a bit too thin.
BlueBirdBro Verified Member Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Is the only position we need left backup catcher?
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Is the only position we need left backup catcher? Along with a couple of bullpen arms, then minor league depth. A back up MIF wouldn't hurt this team either with Travis' return uncertain.
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 Is the only position we need left backup catcher? Backup C and a couple of relievers.
BlueBirdBro Verified Member Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Sorry, should have said position player. I know the bullpen could use some work.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 We've spent $0. One or two of those guys could be traded before the start of the season. Yeah there probably will be a deal at some point. I know Shapiro talked about depth, but I can't possibly see Smoak, Cola, Saunders, and Revere all on the team next season. Since no one is going to trade for Smoak making $3.9m, my guess is they are trying to find a taker for Colabello since he provides no positional versatility and Smoak is not going to back-up for nearly $4m.
raku1108 Verified Member Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 No, it's not okay to do that stuff. If you're being respectful to people and they're insulting you back, they'll be reprimanded. Welcome to the forum! Thanks! Finally somebody with decency!

Maybe the front office already knows where it can trade some of these guys.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Seems as if Colabello is viewed expendable by Shapiro. Which is weird, considering he's arguably better than Smoak for like 1/7th the price.

Next week could be crazy.

Its going to be harder for him to replicate his biggest asset last year (Luck) than Smoak to replicate his great defense and above average power.

Seems like these recent moves only work if there's other corresponding moves lined up.
Scion Verified Member Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Cesar Ramos? I'd be interested, he was effective against righties too last year which is a plus.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 This is not the official MLB.com board, this is not the comment section of Sportsnet. My advice to you is to read a bit and get the lay of the land before you start shouting at regular posters and hitting "report". If you don't develop a thicker skin, you aren't going to find your stay here very fun. I'll say it. Deadpool is right
TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Nick Hagadone for me. Shapiro would know best about his elbow.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Nick Hagadone for me. Absolutely agree. I've been mentioning him for a while. I'm a little surprised the Indians let him go.
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 Nick Hagadone for me. Shapiro would know best about his elbow. Any idea if Delabar has options? You're usually on top of these things. I think he burned his in 2012, 2014, and 2015 but I'm not sure.
skirbs11 Verified Member Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 So backup Catcher and 2 or 3 bull pen arms is all that really remains?? I would still like to see Dickey and Revere traded and use there money to get better starter to pair at the top of the rotation with Stro. And possibly do we see Hutchinson traded? is his time as a starter done or can he serve as an arm in the pen?
