BTS Community Moderator Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 Both guys will have multiple 20M+ AAV offers ranging 3-5 years. Assuming they play to their standards this year, yes they will.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Assuming EE stays at DH his market is a lot smaller. A lot of the big money AL teams have money tied up in 1B/DHs already. Houston seems one of the only clubs that is a fit. Boston would be great but they would have to get rid of Hanley.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Barack Obama? I'm sure you were kidding of course It's in this thread for a reason
TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Barack Obama? Please they didn't have game shows in Kenya As for that pic, it's crazy how little Earl has changed.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Do you think the FO will extend both EE and JB? What sort of contract would it take, 3-year, $50M for each of them? http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/5826-Bautista-EE-extension-discussion

SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Mostly everyone just likes to whine. I'm just confused. You can't make any threads because we have this general jays discussion thread. When I bring up a topic, I'm directed to go to other threads that probably haven't been updated with anything for weeks. Can't win.

You asked what it would take for an EE/Bautista contract extension, so Hurl posted a link to a recent thread on the topic.

raku1108 Verified Member Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 While a preference for Colabello is reasonable, please think before you post. Why didn't Estrada get 100 million when he was so good in the playoffs? Like most ppl really think before they post? Just my own opinion that $3.9M could have been saved for other upgrades.

Just my own opinion that $3.9M could have been saved for other upgrades. What does 3.9 million get you though? That's less than half a WAR on the current market. I suppose it could get you a reliever but probably not a very good one. But it's not like signing Smoak precludes that from happening anyway. Edited December 3, 2015 by Terminator

raku1108 Verified Member Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 pedro ciriaco would be a nice fit if he accepts $1.5M.... capable of 2B, 3B, SS and got decent batting avg.

Didn't mean using just $3.9M for a single reliever... that $ goes back to the FA signing pool. I'm happy with Bello as primary 1B.

raku1108 Verified Member Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 well... batting at .264 last season to me is better than Goins' bat for sure... and we just need a backup IF anyway... unless u think Kawasaki is much better? also keep in mind we don't know if Travis can last a whole season healthy

Yeah, like I said it's a reasonable opinion. What does his playoff performance matter, though? Please learn about sample sizes.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 JA Happ: "I'm very confident in myself... I feel like my best days are ahead of me." I wish one of these days a player when giving an interview after just signing says I came here solely because the team offered me the most term/money. I don't really care about the city and 3/36 is why I am doing this interview. Everyone knows the truth but instead we listen all this trash about the city, fans and "fit".
TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Sooooooo, you're answers are in that thread? I thought everyone likes to have all things under one thread? There are no cut and dry rules about thread-making and admittedly I play favourites when moving threads. I did post in the Mods Forum/hottub that we should be a little more lenient in the off-season about moving threads as it likely won't be pushing often referenced threads down. In this case though I was just letting you know that there was a thread made where you can get opinions on this subject.

I would suggest that you read this thread http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/5025-Sabermetrics-Introduction-and-Discussion. If you are here to be educated, there are a lot of guys here that can do that for you. If you are not going to put an effort out to learn, then maybe there are other boards better suited for you. I hope this helps make your stay here a little more report button free. Your Life Mod, Hurl!
