Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 Pardinho got 6 whiffs and 3 strikeouts in 2 innings of work last night. But only got up to 92.7mph. Getting close to 93 is actually pretty good given everything at this point. If he can stay above 92 he will be very effective imo with the command and offspeed
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 Man it's hard to believe Pardinho is still only 21. Feels like he's been around forever.

Like high af spin rate and great shape... because that velo sucks.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 Gabriel Moreno Gabriel Martinez Orelvis Martinez The holy trinity lmao make this a t shirt venn diagram would work nice Hilariously, the Venn diagram is perfect too, because Gabby Martinez is like a perfect blend in skill of the other 2. He has Power, but not as much as Orelvis, and has bat to ball skills, but not as great as Moreno. And he's an OF, which makes him unique enough, compared to the SS/3B in Orelvis and C/3B in Moreno. It's literally perfect lol.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 Yea, especially in relief. They still plan on him starting, he's just building back up at the moment, it's his rehab assignment.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2022 Author Posted July 16, 2022 What makes Zuleta a better prospect than Frasso? He's Cuban
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 17, 2022 Posted July 17, 2022 Tiedemann went with a clean inning in the futures game. Got Chourio to ground out, Elly De La Cruz flied out, and Darren Baker lined out. Hit kind of hard on the last 2. Was 94-95 on the fastball. Only threw fastball/slider
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 17, 2022 Posted July 17, 2022 Zulueta pitched in relief 1 batter and got a ground out by Francisco Alvarez
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 17, 2022 Posted July 17, 2022 Orelvis with his 6th game in the last 7 with 0 Ks. 4 Ks in 27 PAs...only 1 H and 1 BB though. Lots of flyouts and ground outs. Working hard on fixing the Ks
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted July 17, 2022 Posted July 17, 2022 Leo Jimenez since June 16th: 8.4% BB rate / 16.9% K rate / 0.373 OBP / 0.486 SLG / 0.859 OPS / 0.200 ISO / 142 wRC+ If he has another month like that I wonder if they consider moving him up to AA before the season is over? Nice to see him figuring out A+ though at 21 years old His wRC+ is up to 121 for the whole season

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2022 Posted July 17, 2022 What I really like is that his ISO nearly tripled from last year. .065 to .150 this year. These numbers are very Espinal-esque from when he was in the minors. His glove will need to be good to get a shot at the majors. In his favour though he’s playing his age 21 season at Advanced A, whereas Espy was 23 at the Advanced A level before getting a late season promotion to AA, hitting a combined .297/.356/.444 - that was the year he was traded to the Jays.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2022 Posted July 17, 2022 If he wasn’t intriguing already. Now we saw how hot his Mom is. Holy s***.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2022 Posted July 17, 2022 100.5 mph throw from SS to first.

I've never seen him play shortstop. Every time I've watched the Canadians live he's been a DH or injured. But, from what I've seen randomly online he's a no doubt major league shortstop if he can hit.

They say it’s a freakish ability to get the bat to the ball, especially high fastballs (paraphrasing Fangraphs) with very little power, but a viable SS.
