ValiantJaysFan Verified Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 When are the game times going to be released? I got a ticket to Game 2 and need to book work off!!! All the other games are at 8:05 so my guess would be then for TV purposes. Works out great for me too because I put my daughter to bed at 7 and usually miss the first couple of innings.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 They haven't announced rosters yet? As much as Loup has sucked this year, I think he'll get his shot in this series. He should be used against lefties that will most certainly not got PH for, like Moreland, Hamilton and Fielder. It will be interesting to see Sanchez's use, as well. He doesn't do so well against righties.
ValiantJaysFan Verified Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Wrong. Game 2 will most likely start at either 1pm or 4pm My bad I was thinking of Game 1.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Hamels in Game 2 means he only pitches once in this series right? Isn't that what people who wanted HFA were complaining about (only seeing the ace once)? Jays pretty much got their wish, although Gallardo scares me a bit. Off speed stuff means Smoak is pencilled in for 4 K's, at the very least.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the Game 2 starter could start Game 5 on regular rest, whereas the Game 1 starter could start either Game 4 on short rest, or Game 5 with an extra day of rest.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Price has done bad against the Rangers in his career. Lets hope he rebounds with rest.

Slade Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Why would they set Friday up for a day game? If anything Game 1 should be at 4:00PM if they can't do 7PM.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 On a Thursday? MLB seems to like the games staggered. Last year, the first day games were at 5:30 and 9. The second day games were at noon, 3, 6:30, 9:30.
Governator Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Should we expect Stroman to start on Friday or Dickey? The last like 5 games I've gone to Dickey has started, I'm so sick of going to his games lol.

I thought you would want Dickey at home for sure but maybe not.

MLB staggers the playoff start times in the first round. There are only two games on Thursday so they're probably 4 and 8 or something like that. Four games go on Friday so we'll probably see a game start at 12 or 1, like in Baltimore last year.

Stro's the 2nd best starter on this team and if starting Game 2 means he can start Game 5 on full rest then this shouldn't be a debate. I'm at Game 2 as well - and hoping to see the Stroshow...because well, he's awesome.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Jon Morosi @jonmorosi 8m8 minutes ago Interesting #BlueJays development: #Rangers manager Jeff Banister tells @MLBNetworkRadio there's "good chance" Texas starts 3 LHP in ALDS. Jon Morosi @jonmorosi 5m5 minutes ago In other words: Jays likely to face Hamels, Perez, Holland and one of Lewis/Gallardo. During year, Jays 20-15 vs. LHP and 73-54 vs. RHP.
Governator Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Price would be starting game 5. Price should be starting games 1 & 4 on short rest (That's why we're renting him), Stroman 2 & 5 on regular rest and Dickey Game 3. Estrada is the long arm and I assume used in the rotation for ALCS.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I'm surprised you say this. I think Houston is a huge threat, and the Royals have won a f***ing ton of baseball games in the last two years. I think Texas is the worst of the 10 playoff teams. Yeah that's why I wasn't too concerned about winning home field. Yankees/Houston are far scarier playoff matchups IMO.

Our lineup will literally rape Derek Holland

Use the arm we rented to our max advantage period.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 If that were true my guess is they would go Gallardo Game 1 then Hamels, Hollan, Perez, Hamels. Still seems like a bad strategy as with Tulo back Jays will have only 1 LHH in their lineup. Wonder if Bannister pull his starters after 2 trips through the lineup.

Estrada in that TEX ballpark with that RF really scares me though.
