Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 I say do something players. But yeah, we are far from out of it, we are very much in this thing.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 2 AM threads are the best kinds of threads Isn't it past your bedtime?
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 There's no such thing as bedtime when school is out for the summer. I'm calling child services.
kgm1 Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 f***ing do something aa No panic moves please. If Kawasaki and Reimold are gone for awhile the one thing AA can't do is panic
kgm1 Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 I'm calling child services. they may need a babysitter, call and escort service for them
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 As a fan, you should panic. Even if the team somehow manages to stay afloat while the injured players recover; stacked full of maybes, has-beens, journeyman, and AAA depth. The problem occurs when these players return from injury... they won't return and be 100% (even with minor league reps), nope, most likely they will struggle for a length of time to get their timing and feel for the game back, and they will struggle when we need wins the most. If we haven't already dropped out of contention by the time most of them return, we will certainly drop out of contention soon after. The season is already over, look ahead to next year instead. How many accounts are you going to make before you give up? Two at once today probably didn't even scratch the surface, am I right?

As a nonfan you should find another hobby like running on railroads track
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 We are definitely not out of it. Seattle is most likely to sink after the break, as they lack the offensive depth besides Seager and Cano, plus have workload concerns on their pitchers not named Felix Hernandez or Hisashi Iwakuma. And we're about the only real competition.. Kansas City and Cleveland don't exactly look like decent competition, and the Yankees are pretty much cooked without Tanaka. Meanwhile, Baltimore faces a tough schedule after the break, and we still have a decent shot of catching them.

If you don't like it, go watch another team or another sport. You realize that the AL East, along with most of the AL not named Detroit, Oakland or L.A. is average to mediocre at best.
jayswin11 Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Author Posted July 12, 2014 Hopefully we'll make a move or (or two) soon. It's necessary plus it might be the jump start some players need. Lets them know management thinks they can win this year.

On the other hand Orioles start with a trip through Oakland, LA and Seattle
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 If this were any normal year we WOULD be out of it This weak weak AL East has allowed us to hang on Bullpen, Rasmus, Reyes - start playing better Injured guys - get well soon AA - get us a quality infielder

If they don't do something to make a run this year I will have lost all faith in this organization.
Art Vandelay Verified Member Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 What can they do? No one seems willing to part with prospects, and we don't really have anyone to trade.
shortstop Verified Member Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 tough schedule coming up ahead or otherwise, the O's are 4 games ahead...this could get out of hand after the All-Star break if they come out playing well out of the gate...

shortstop Verified Member Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Huh Words dont make no sense apologies basic point - O's are 4 games ahead and jays could very well be pretty much out of the playoff picture come the trade deadline
sh3156 Verified Member Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 apologies basic point - O's are 4 games ahead and jays could very well be pretty much out of the playoff picture come the trade deadline Have you looked at the schedule?
shortstop Verified Member Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 sh, the schedule's been pointed out many times on here and includes the fact the O's have only 3 off days until the end of August... nonetheless, point is it is possible the O's come out hot & the jays continue to falter = jays out of it imo - not only out of the division race but also the wild card race keeping in mind it's not so bad when you're trying to hurdle 1 or 2 teams but very difficult when trying to pass 3-4 or more...
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 I can't wait for this division to come down a series of coinflips after everyone finishes 81 and 81.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 There's really no question about it. I enjoyed the run in May, but that's all it was, a hot May. Team is not even .500 anymore. You're not very good at math, are you...
jayswin11 Verified Member Posted July 15, 2014 Author Posted July 15, 2014 Soriano release by Yankees. Jays should sign him, it's better than nothing and/or Brett Wallace.
jayswin11 Verified Member Posted July 15, 2014 Author Posted July 15, 2014 If the front office doesn't do something between now and the trade deadline to help the team and then then JAYS subsequently fail to make the playoffs, I'm willing to bet Jose Bautista asks for a trade.
shortstop Verified Member Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 http://www.tsn.ca/blogs/scott_macarthur/?id=457231 "He's dealing with budget parameters, the numbers of which aren't clear but Anthopoulos often talks of being “creative” with any deal. Translation: dollar in-dollar out is the likely requirement of a completed trade" Possible Rogers isn't getting enough backlash that's needed for them to loosen the purse strings - true or not, ever since Boras's comments earlier in the year then with the Santana debacle, likely perception is this is about Rogers not AA. Gotta give AA credit here b/c his job is difficult enough without being bothered with probably way more politics than a GM should have to deal with...
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 The Jays have a good chance of making it just because the teams ahead of them are beatable. Whether they can sustain the offensive injuries and pitch well enough to win is another story. I think the break will do them some good , but they need to come out guns blazing on Friday. They won't duplicate May any time soon but they need to go on a good run.
