Zach Edey probably isn’t a great NBA prospect given the state of the game today but he would probably be pretty good for Canada in international play wouldn’t he?

Well that was a s***** finish for the Raps. Not that I expected them to make any noise if they made it through the play in tournament. Not sure where they go from here. The core still seems good and I like what Poeltl brought to the team. Bring on the offseason I guess. Curious to see what they do.

They pretty much dominated the Bulls for the first three quarters. Everything fell apart in the 4th. Also, shooting only 50% from the free throw line is unacceptable. If they managed to shoot near their season average, they would have been up by 10 or so points. Raps weren't going to get by the Bucks or Celtics anyways if they made it out of the Play-In tournament.

I don't think this core is good enough to contend for a Championship, let alone Top 4 seed in the East. I don't think its wise to lock up so much money in guys like FVV or Trent Jr. Also, wouldn't offer Siakam a max contract extension. He's not a guy to lead a team. He's more of a second or third piece on a Championship team.

Barnes kept the status quo this season and never really built off his rookie campaign. He needs to take his game to the next level hopefully in the next year or so.

Raps need a stronger bench. Depth was a major issue this season and Nurse had to overwork a lot of his starters most of the time.

I think some major changes will be made this offseason. I don't see FVV or Trent re-signing. Maybe they explore trading Siakam if they decide not to offer him an extension. It's also a weak FA class I think. We'll see what happens. Masai might have to be creative with trades or else it will be another season similar to this.

I tend to agree with all of this - although I do think Siakam is a #2 on a championship team. The guy is a beast. Curious to see what happens with FVV. We have 0 depth at guard, so if FVV and Trent leave, I think we'll have to trade one of Barnes or Siakam for some PG help. Those 2 are a little too redundant. I guess you can move OG, but they'll miss his defense and he spreads the floor better than Barnes/Siakam do if they play PF/SF. Also need to re-sign Poeltl I believe? It's a bit of a mess.

Yeah could be a lot of changes next season that's for sure. I would prefer keeping OG and Barnes since they're younger and still have room to grow. Siakam is their best trade chip. I don't see them offering him a max extension and I don't think it's smart tying up all that money. Hope they do re-sign Poeltl.

If they bring back FVV and Trent, re-sign Poeltl and offer Siakam a max extension, that's too much money tied up in those players and I don't think the Raps will be able to take that next step.

Penalty for Dallas clearly tanking a game to make sure they got to keep their 1st round pick: $750k

Way to make sure it doesn’t happen again

That's loose change for Mark Cuban lol.

Yeah. A write off to the bottom line. That’s the first time I’ve ever seen a team purposely not make the playoffs. At that point, you probably should know you have too many teams lol

You would think the Mavs with Luka Doncic would be a contender for an NBA Championship. Such a disappointing season. They need to add another elite player with him and if they keep Irving around.

Wow.

I know there were rumours but it's still a bit jarring. However, hard to watch them play this season and not blame Nurse for a lot of it. It seemed like he had checked out mentally at some point.

Nick Nurse will be like #1 candidate for most places now. Even being white. So he’ll be ok

Reported.

You could tell even with one of his last press conferences, he was hinting that both him and the organization were going to part ways.

I’m sure the Celtics will win their series but I saw when they were up 2-0 they were -10000 to win the series. I’m not sure what that means the other odds are (+$8500?), but there’s worse ways to blow $100 on a bet I was thinking

Ime Udoka to Houston

Yeah Nurse probably would’ve wanted that one. Should be up and coming team. He’s prob next though

Glad the Raptors traded a 2024 pick for RFA Poeltl and avoided having a chance at getting a top 5 pick in this draft. The play-in game, the 13th pick in 2023, and no pick in 2024 seems like the better alternative.

Yes, still bitter about that trade. Not about Poeltl, he is a good player, but about what that trade meant direction wise.

1st rounder is Top 6 protected next year.

Yes but they don't make that trade if they were going to tank the following year so the chances of getting that pick are very slim (unless they have an awful season which won't be by design).

It was a stupid trade. I agree.

They should've had a fire sale at the deadline. I honestly feel like this is a rudderless ship right now. I don't see what direction they're going in at all.

Raptors are stuck in limbo if they bring back the same core. They're somewhat decent when healthy but not good enough to be an elite team in the East or to go on a deep Playoff run. Will be interesting to see what they do.

San Antonio is a factory for HOF centres.

First David Robinson

Then Tim Duncan

... Now Victor Wembanyama

Almost like it’s a fix lol

Nice landing spot to get SA relevant again and not talking about relocating couple years from now
