  1. People keep bitching that the Jays should have "fixed" offense last off season I said it couldn't have been "fixed" without Ohtani and/or Soto Pretty simple. Yet somehow a bunch of mouth breathers take that to mean that i don't think it could have been improved or that Atkins is absolved of all blame and gets a "free pass" lmao And they just keep repeating that I have that stance. And then a guy likenyou comes along and apparently thinks that's my stance too Round and round we go
  2. That has NEVER been my argument for f*** sakes.
  3. I am so sick of arguing with you two about this, and I'm sure everyone else is tired of reading it. If you want to think Teo being on this team would save it right now, be my guest. Would it be better? Probably, assuming he hits as well here as he's hitting in LA. Does it move the needle enough to "fix" it? f*** no. lmao
  4. I'm assuming this is a shot at me because I don't think signing Teoscar this last off season would have moved the needle for the 2024 Jays? He would have been a negligible upgrade on the overall team as a whole, in my opinion. He'd obviously be an upgrade on the offense, but his $20+ million price tag would force other players off the team and take away their non-offensive contributions. And besides, I just said Vlad isn't fine. He's barely above replacement level.
  5. Guerrero has 1 fWAR almost half way through the season. He may be hitting "ok" but he's most definitely a problem
  6. The sarcasm went right over your (bone) head did it?
  7. But, if they'd have signed Teo and JDM though we'd be golden.
  8. I've don't know if I've ever seen someone so dumb and clueless be soooooo sure of himself in my entire life. And also just completely smug about it.
  9. We'll pay for the whole contract, just take Springer back the other way haha
  10. Yeah his deal is really nice for sure, but that 36.7 K-rate this year is frightening and his D value has dropped which also not good, although we wouldn't want him for CF.
  11. I feel like the Guardians are what the jays should be right now if so many of the underperforming (or cooked in some cases) players were actually hitting their projections. If Bo had 2-3 WAR right now, Vlad had 2-3 WAR right now, Springer and Kirk could still hit, Gausman was 23-24 level Gausman and the bullpen was doing what it did last year. If, if, if, if, if..... Hopefully they can get some wins. Gonna be tough.
  12. Robert isn't exactly lighting the world on fire this year, and he's certainly no superstar caliber player. He'd be a nice add to see if he can turn it around and a big upgrade to Springer/KK but I certainly wouldn't pay through the teeth to get him here.
  13. For sure, but at least it's finally happened and the Jays aren't out of the fight yet.
  14. Haha, yeah he's been ice cold lately down there.
  15. Oh man isn't that the truth.
  16. Hopefully Jansen and Schneider start to heat up again, hopefully Bo has a 2nd half like 2022 and hopefully Horwitz/Barger prove they belong
  17. And there it is for the folks that wondered why Biggio and not Vogelbach. Answer is both. Hopefully Barger has a better showing than his debut call up Please bench Springer and make him a late inning D replacement
  18. Is there a precedent for a GM being turfed mid-season when his team is hovering around .500 and just a few games from a wild card spot?
  19. They give way too much rope based on past performance. Bo I can see being patient with at this point, he was terrible for the first half of 2022 and ended up with 4.9 fWAR (man we could use a hot streak like that again this year) But holy s*** Springer is cooked. It's June 14th and he's still sporting a .580 OPS and they have three OF's in Buffalo with way better projections than that in Barger, Lukes and Berroa. Barger and Lukes are even on the 40 man FFS And yeah, enough with Mayza already too. Danner is also on the 40 man, let's have a look at him. He got the call last year but immediately was hurt, then a rough start this year. But he's been better lately. Swanson is getting pounded on AAA too, my bet is Mayza would as well.
  20. Riley Tirotta with a 169 wRC+ through his first 52 PA's in AAA He was promoted after a 156 wRC_ in 73 PA's in AA He's played 9 games at 1B, 2 games at 3B and 2 games as the DH in AAA
  21. IP 2020 6.0 2021 54.1 2022 0.0 2023 25.0 2024 82.2 One of these years is not like the others.... It'll be interesting to see how far they push him.
  22. The Braves are also a case in point for just get in and you have a chance. 2021 - 88 wins, win world series 2022 - 101 wins, 1 playoff win 2023 - 104 wins, 1 playoff win
  23. I agree these guys are old and I'd love to see more Bisons brought up. I mean would Barger really be worse than a .589 OPS playing in RF every day? We'd probably lose some D value but it's ridiculous that they keep trotting Springer out there every day.
