  1. Haha well, then get this....Springer's terrible OPS of .559 is still better than Kirk (.550) and KK (.523)
  2. Springer with one of the worst OPS's for a starting corner outfield in the last 100 years and he's batting 5th for the Jays
  3. Absolutely. I hope so.
  4. Again, they reportedly talked with them all.
  5. They reportedly had discussions with every single free agent bat out there. You can't MAKE free agents sign with your team. And like I've said, none of them would have been enough to save this tire fire anyways. Belt lol Nobody signed Belt, and Turner had better projections anyways. look where that got us.
  6. Unless someone knocks their socks off, I don't see Vlad or Bo getting traded, especially at the TDL. Kikuchi, Jansen, KK, Yimi, Richards and Turner should all be dealt for every single prospect lotto ticket they can get.
  7. It was sound logic It made sense on paper It has blown up in their faces spectacularly
  8. It's not like they made a monumental shift to defense from 2022 to 2023. They traded Teo and Gurriel. That's it The problem is Springer went from 130 wRC+ to 100 wRC+, Kirk the same, Jansen 140 wRC+ to 115, Vlad from 135 to 115, and Varsho came over after 107 wRC with the Dbacks to 85 last year with the Jays. That's a crap ton of bats that fell off and the FO expected (or hoped for) some of them to bounce back this year and they didn't. In fact most of them got worse and even Bo joined them.
  9. How in the world were they supposed to get a top 2 offense in 2024?
  10. Yeah, I feel for the guy. Been a brutal 4 months.
  11. I just keep coming back to the simple fact that everything would be much better if the core they'd chosen to build around had lived up to it's potential. IMO Atkins built a good team around a rotten core. A 5-7 WAR Vlad (which we had in 2022) A 4-5 WAR Bo (which we had 2021-2023) A 5-6 WAR catching tandem (which we had in 2023) The big question is why did the core kool-aid turn rotten? Was it an inevitability (IQ levels, physical conditioning, etc) or is it something the Jays did to cause it (coaching, team philosophy, etc)? That question needs to be answered for sure.
  12. Swanson gave up 6 earned runs yesterday a third of an inning. 9 strikes on 19 pitches. Rocking a 16.76 ERA since going to AAA I remember at the start of the year trying to guess which one of last years solid relievers was going to s*** the bed this year, because you knew there would be one for sure. Well, turns out I could have guessed any of Romano, Mayza, Swanson or even Green who's already had two IL stints and is on pace for like 35 IP lol I thought it'd be Richards
  13. I use to follow the Jays and I was just too optimistic on BJMB and had to go into hiding lol Congrats to the doom and gloomers on all the losing the jays are doing lately.
  14. I see Berroa is listed on the bench today, must have called him up when Orelvis got suspended
  15. lmao And the hits just keep on coming One of the few power hitters in our system is on the juice lol
  16. You're probably going to be waiting a lot of weeks for that. If it happens it'll probably be in the off season.
  17. Ramon Suarez in the DSL 10 IP 16.2 K/9 0.90 BB/9 0.90 ERA 1.42 xFIP 0.60 WHIP
  18. Remember when we had a 6 WAR Vlad, a 5 WAR Bo and a 6 WAR catching tandem? What a time it was to be alive All 26 years old and under too
  19. They must be showcasing Springer for a trade.
  20. Springer batting clean up is absolutely insane and completely indefensible It's like Schneider is begging to be fired and seeing how far he can go before they turf him.
  21. Yeah the one thing we can be grateful for right now is that the Jays didn't extend either Vlad or Bo to monster contracts. Whether by design or by luck, it's very fortunate. Personally I'm ready to see both shipped out and give them and the org a fresh start.
  22. One of the few bright spots on the farm this year. All the others got injured or sucked.
  23. I don't know what you're talking about Just trying to get my Atkins fellating in for the day, nice and early.
  24. 1. Deal KK (he'd be a nice veteran D pick up for a contender), Jansen (if he won't re-sign a fair deal) and Kikuchi (Boras....) for whatever lottery tickets you can get. Should be able to get some more lottery tickets from dealing Yimi and Richards too 2. Look to move Bo and Vlad, hopefully some teams out there thinks they can fix these two duds 3. Reset the luxury tax 4. Play the s*** out of the Buffalo boys and see what you've got, get them some experience to hopefully build off of 5. Build next years rotation around Gausman, Berrios, Bassitt with Y-Rod/Tiedemann/Francis/Macko trying to fill it out along an FA signing or two, maybe Manoah makes it back mid season 6. Also spend the rest of the season seeing if any of the relief arms in AAA/AA have any promise at the MLB level. Cooke, Danner, Juenger, Pardhino, Flaherty, Eisert, Brock, Burnette... 7. Go big game hunting in FA in the off season, see if you can find a better mix 8. Figure out why the f*** the drafting and development is failing and start fixing it
  25. They should have offered Ohtani a billion, and let the Padres take whatever prospects they wanted for 1 year of Soto. THAT would have made a difference for sure. None of the other mid range players would have moved the needle enough to "fix" anything with half our other starters rocking sub .600 OPS's
