  1. If Patrick Corbin is this years Eric Lauer, who is Eric Lauer going to be?
  2. I get some folks are just really deep into their fandom, but my goodness why get that upset over something you have ZERO control over.
  3. Unfortunately yes, I thought this was going to be his year and he has elbow soreness before he even got started. Crazy. It's May and he hasn't pitched an official inning yet
  4. 14 to 1 K/9 to BB/9 Better get him up to AAA ASAP so his BB/9 can balloon Seriously though, one of these days one of these promising young relievers is going to dominate his way to AAA and then not get blown the f*** up once he gets there. It's going to happen, I can feel it.
  5. Waaaait a minute. This is the BP with Tommy Nance included? Can't be true. Whiffle's been spittin' "facts" haha
  6. Would also be nice if Little brought his AAA confidence and performance back to MLB. Seems like with his stuff, he could legit be one of the best lefty relievers in baseball.
  7. FYI, from April 29th to the end of the WS the Jays ranked 1st in batting average, 2nd in slugging, 9th in home runs, 1st wRC+ We're not buried yet. Popkins will rise again. I think we were all hoping they'd hit like that all season, unlike last year, but injuries haven't helped.
  8. Well if we're fast forwarding 12 months, let's rewind 12 months... April 28th, 2025 Jays ranked in MLB: ISO .104 (29th) wRC+ 86 (23rd) HR's 15 (29th) SLG% .343 (27th) They need to get Kirk, Barger and Springer back and get that summer heat going. I just hope injuries don't drag us down all season.
  9. The Phillies and Red Sox didn't play in game 7 of the World Series just months ago, and neither team has $100+ million worth of payroll on the IL since basically day one of the season. You really think JS is on the hot seat? Very unlikely.
  10. No game thread today? What are we expecting from Trey today? 14 hits, 7 walks and 10 earned in 12 IP in the minors. Only 2-4 IP per outing. He did K 16 though. Just chalking those numbers up to him fine tuning s*** and not caring about the stat line so much?
  11. It's Atkins fault. He should have signed 3 more MLB starters and went into the season with 12. What kind of idiot doesn't start his team off with 12+ MLB starters?
  12. Dude, I know which relievers left, which relievers were here, which relievers are new and I also know what roles they played back then, and what roles they play now. The whole point of me breaking that IP list down for you, (which you completely missed) was to show how last years bullpen was no better than this years, and yet they managed to go all the way to the World Series. You don't need to run around here freaking out because we have Tommy Nance in our bullpen. Could the bullpen be better? Sure. Is it going to sink us this season? Probably not, unless they face catastrophic injuries, which could happen to any team.
  13. People like you always worry, that's your schtick. That way if it goes off the rails you can have your "I told ya so's" but if it goes great you can enjoy the success and winning with the rest of us.
  14. Absolutely wild. And the third most innings belongs to our recently demoted closer. Both Yariel and Little are still around though, and while their walk rates are still too high in AAA, every other stat is pretty stellar and there is a chance either could return and regain dominant form. Hoffman could also right the ship. But if they don't we still have full years of Varland, Rogers, Yimi should be back soon and then Flu, Fisher, Nance and Lauer who were all big contributors last year as well. Then you add in the fact that Atkins will likely add another arm or two mid season when/if needed, worrying abut the state of this bullpen is a fool's folly.
  15. It's hilarious how triggered you get over the bullpen. (haha) According to you the bullpen as it's currently "constituted" (lmao) isn't enough to handle 162 Last years bullpen most innings pitched: 1. Yariel (72.0) 2. Little (68.1) 3. Hoffman (68.0) 4. Flu (52.2) 5. Fisher (48.2) 6. Green (43.2 ) (Hahaha) 7. Nance (31.2) 8. Lauer (30.2) That bullpen can survive 162 plus win an American League Championship title and this years can't?
  16. Lol This bullpen as its currently "constituted" is probably better than last years, and definitely not worse. That bullpen survived 162 just fine
  17. Varland and Rogers are quite the effing reliever duo, rocking the sub 1 ERA's
  18. Yeah, they are 10-15 but not with a top 5 payroll. Like 40% of that payroll is on the damn IL
  19. We really need Yesavage and Berrios back. Scherzer was battling forearm issues it was reported a couple weeks ago? He doesn't have it, and neither does Lauer at this point.
  20. 19 year old Johnny King is off to good start in Vancouver. 10.1 IP / 19 K's / 0.87 ERA / 1.16 WHIP He's only given up 4 hits and 1 earned run so far. 8 walks which is high, but I looked at today's pitch tracker and the ump made some s***** ball calls on the first 2 of his 3 walks today. Both of them should have been rung up if the tracker is accurate.
  21. Hahaha. Yeah, like I said...the bullpen is just fine and will likely be even better once some starters return and they hopefully don't need to be relied on quite as much.
  22. It's early in the season, but Emmanuel Bonilla showing possible signs of life in low A. Has his 2nd homer this season tonight, and the OPS is up to .859 now. Nothing earth shattering, but for a guy who had a sub .600 OPS the last two seasons in rookie ball it's something I guess.
  23. The bullpen is not perfect, but it is absolutely fine as evidenced by being top 10 in many important categories in all of MLB. You were trying to dunk on Atkins over it, which is hilarious. You have to look at the bullpen as a whole, you can't say it's imploding because a couple of the individual relievers are, that's what relievers do dude. They are volatile. Overall the bullpen is basically top ten in MLB despite those individual implosions and despite being over worked due to a phuck load of starter injuries.
  24. The Jays pen has had to pitch the 5th most innings so far, mainly because they have 4 MLB SPs on the IL since the season started. Despite that they are ranked: 2nd in K/9 10th in BB/9 8th in xERA 1st in xFIP 9th in fWAR 4th worst in BABIP (bad luck) Yet you've got buddy in here talking like he knows it all and Atkins is a moron who doesn't know how to build a bullpen.
