  1. Riley Tirotta with a 169 wRC+ through his first 52 PA's in AAA He was promoted after a 156 wRC_ in 73 PA's in AA He's played 9 games at 1B, 2 games at 3B and 2 games as the DH in AAA
  2. IP 2020 6.0 2021 54.1 2022 0.0 2023 25.0 2024 82.2 One of these years is not like the others.... It'll be interesting to see how far they push him.
  3. The Braves are also a case in point for just get in and you have a chance. 2021 - 88 wins, win world series 2022 - 101 wins, 1 playoff win 2023 - 104 wins, 1 playoff win
  4. I agree these guys are old and I'd love to see more Bisons brought up. I mean would Barger really be worse than a .589 OPS playing in RF every day? We'd probably lose some D value but it's ridiculous that they keep trotting Springer out there every day.
  5. Being optimistic is enjoyable Looking for the good in things is enjoyable Following a sports team is supposed to bring you enjoyment If it only makes you miserable and turns you into a whiny baby that spends a portion of his time going on the internet and complaining, why do it? I got news for you, you can't control whether the Jays are good or not. You shouldn't let things you can't control make you miserable. Or go ahead and do let it make you miserable, whatever floats your boat.
  6. Being on the optimistic side is better than being a miserable whiner all the time.
  7. Bo career OPS .806 / this season .633 Kirk career OPS .738 / this season .594 Springer career OPS .823 / this season .582 Turner career OPS .823 / this season .673 KK career OPS .713 / this season .565 Vogelbach career OPS .745 / this season .578 wRC+ Bo career 122 / season 83 Kirk career 111 / season 80 Springer career 128 / season 76 Turner career 126 / season 98 KK career 97 / season 62 Vogelbach career 108 / season 70 Something is just rotten to the core here. Springer must be just cooked I guess, but JT still had an .800 OPS and 114 wRC+ last year. Vladdy, IKF, Varsho and Jansen all hanging in around career averages.
  8. jaysblue with another strawman argument It's literally the only thing you can do is give me a position I've never taken and then try to make fun of me for it
  9. This is what happens when you're filling out your roster from a free agent pool that's full of crap. Some of it works, some of it doesn't, and with the benefit of hindsight you can piss and moan until the cows come home every time a performer from that free agent pool hits a dinger.
  10. Bo, Springer, Kirk, Vladdy... 130 wRC+ for Vladdy with 7 homers and 1 fWAR mid-June is a joke Expecting Springer to bounce back? How about just staying league average? He went from 133 wRC+ to 104 wRC+ to 76 wRC+ Kirk goes from 129 wRC+ to 96 wRC+ to 80 wRC+ Bo's wRC+ over his career, 140 - 120 - 122 - 130 - 125 - 83 Last year we had a drop off for all these hitters from well above league average to league average. People were hoping for them to bounce back but instead they've gotten worse. Would have been nice if they could have at least stayed league average, we'd probably have a handful more wins that way. It's like a nightmare
  11. I doubt the Dodgers think they can do anything to suddenly make Biggio a 2-3 WAR player. He's just a decent, versatile bench player that won't drain value, he'll hover just above replacement and not hurt you.
  12. I disagree. Even if they were confident Teo would bounce back away from safeco there is no guarantee he'd even sign with Toronto instead of the Dodgers. I know I wouldn't if given the choice. So in other words he may have never been a realistic option to begin with, at least not without an absurd overpayment. That's the whole point. Lots of options to fix the offense my ass haha
  13. Ok, so I wonder how many more runs the Jays would be scoring if Bo and Springer weren't so unlucky? Lol
  14. I wonder how many more runs we'd be scoring if Bo and Springer had OPS in the .700s instead of the low .600s?
  15. They should have increased their payroll to $300 million for another 1-2 fWAR that we can easily pick.out now with hindsight Haha yup
  16. They should have signed Gurriel. Haha yup
  17. Teo had a 105 wRC+ last year but the Jays should have outbid the Dodgers for him because there was never any doubt he'd bounce back in the middle of a stacked Dodgers line up. I mean it was all but guaranteed now that we can see it happening in real time. Haha yup
  18. Jays should have waited until June to see which of the s***** FA bats that were available were going to be good in 2024 and then went back in time to sign them. Haha yup
  19. They should have signed Soler Haha yup
  20. Yeah, Macko has been shoving in AA
  21. The more damning an concerning problem is Bo 0.3 fWAR, Springer 0.3 fWAR and also Vladdy 1.2 fWAR
  22. Yeah, I'm not surprised by the difference in those players values, just pointing out that they aren't some deep team loaded with superstars, they are an average team that is propped up by two superstars that are healthy and having superstar seasons. I am surprised that their pitching has been this good without Cole though.
  23. The Yankees are basically the Jays but their two superstars are actually superstars and their bullpen hasn't been destroyed by injuries and underperformance. Soto & Judge 10 fWAR / Rest of position players ~7 fWAR Vlad & Bo 1.6 fWAR / Rest of position players ~7 fWAR SP War NYY 5.3 (11th) SP War Jays 5.1 (12th) RP War NYY 1.5 (15th) RP War Jays -1.5 (30th) And their payroll is $62 million higher as well.
