  1. I like all the XBH's today
  2. You worry way too much about other posters on this board and trying to dunk on them over s*** they didn't even say and/or don't even believe and/or don't even do.
  3. Yes it's possible, I mean now that we can hand pick the off season free agent bats that are performing of course it would have improved the offense (but not fixed it), but remember many people wanted them to get a guy like Soler too who has not performed, which is why no one is using him as an example for improvement right now, and a month ago nobody was complaining about the Turner signing either. And yeah, the offense is probably better and maybe we win that game last night, but maybe we lose a game earlier in the season because IKF isn't here to make a key play at 3rd or maybe Teo boots a play in LF because Varsho isn't out there because he's in CF instead of KK? This is why I used fWAR as my example earlier when comparing IKF/Turner/Vogelbach/KK vs. Teo/JDM and let's not forget I'm using hindsight to hand pick Teo and JDM here as successful examples of off season free agent bats when it could have just as easily been one that has fallen flat.
  4. Hopefully some of these bullpen guys can get healthy and perform so at the very least they can be dealt to clear salary and bring in some lottery ticket prospects. If the bullpen is going to lay fat turds all season long we might as well thrust some of the younger cheaper guys into more prominant roles to see if they can excel and also bring up some of the younger cheaper arms from AAA and AA. Let's see Pearson closing, let's see some of Cooke, Danner, Fluharty, Juenger, Pardinho, Burnette.
  5. Haha yeah it kind of is. I don't know if they expected Kirk and Springer to bounce back or were just hoping. But I doubt they expected them to get worse, bring Bo both them and also have Turner fall apart in the 2nd month of the season.
  6. Yeah, if the Jays sign JDM and Teo instead of all those other guys this offense would be "fixed" for sure. We'd be right up there with the Orioles for the 1st wild card.
  7. I've said so many times I can't count, that: 1. If the core bats didn't come around we were screwed 2. Other than ohtani or Soto none of the other crap available was going to fix this mess unless #1 happened 3. Atkins is responsible for this baseball teams results, good or bad
  8. People don't get it though, because every time we lose a game they complain that they didn't fix the offense this past off season. Every time. The junk that was out there wasn't going to fix it. It was too late.
  9. Can't believe the Jays didn't fix the offense. Instead of: IKF - $7.5 million / 1.2 fWAR Turner - $13 million / -0.1 fWAR KK - $10.5 million / 0.2 fWAR Vogelbach - $2.0 million / -0.2 fWAR Total - $33 million / 1.1 fWAR They should have signed: Teo - $23.5 million / 1.4 fWAR JDM - $12 million / 0.5 fWAR Total - $35.5 million / 1.9 fWAR Season saved! An extra 0.8 fWAR! Wait, what?? It's almost like this team was screwed no matter what (unless they miraculously landed Ohtani or Soto) because the rest of the options weren't good enough to actually make up for the core hitters on this team turning to garbage the last two seasons.
  10. Maybe Martinez told them to get f***ed?
  11. Or Clement, who's been ass lately
  12. The smaller the sample size for sure, sample size is getting up there now though with all the teams over 60 games in. Imagine being the Phillies and having played 63 games now with just 6 of them against teams that are currently above .500
  13. Jays are 17-24 against above .500 teams, them and Boston are tied for the 2nd most games played vs above .500 teams at 41 The most is the White Sox at 47 The Phillies have played 6 games against above .500 teams The Dodgers have played 9
  14. Lol Take it easy you overly sensitive baby. Lol I don't have you on ignore lol Lol Lol
  15. Most people probably.wont see that there was a game thread for today, just saying....
  16. Even of they sign Teo instead of KK all they get is an extra 1 fWAR to this point for an extra $9.9 million and that's assuming Teo would have take the same 1 year deal with the Jays which we know he wouldn't because he said so when the Dodgers were in town. He wanted a multi year deal from the Jays. Maybe they squeeze a little more value out of Varsho to this point because he's fulltime CF too
  17. I've said it many times, the Jays did the right thing after 2022, they sacrificed a little offense (Teo and Gurriel) for improved defense (Varsho and KK) but what they didn't count on was Springer, Kirk and Vladdys bats all s***ing the bed, plus Varsho also didn't have a good year at the plate either. Like way below projections. Varsho bounced back so far this year, but Kirk and Springer are even worse which is unbelievable. And while Vladdy has been better at the plate, that has been offset by Bo sporting a 80 wRC+ Springer s***ing the bed can be passed off due to age, although you wouldn't expect that much of a drop off that quickly, but it happens. The core of Vlad Bo and Kirk just ain't what we thought it was.
  18. I blame the IKF signing for Vladdy only having 1.2 fWAR through a third of the season and it's also his fault that Kirk, Springer and Bo only have 70-80 wRC+ They all figured IKF was here to save the franchise and felt like they didn't need to hit anymore.
  19. The team was built around some core bats that have completely fallen apart. Springer is older now, but I don't think anyone thought he'd fall this far this fast. Vlad, Bo and Kirk are all not what we thought they'd be two years ago. If anyone predicted those four would be this bad in 2024 I'd love to see those posts.
  20. Yariel threw 43 pitches for the Bisons today and completed 3 innings with 0 hits 0 runs 4 Ks and 1 walk
  21. Correct. And those 2 or 3 dorks are also always sarcastically asigning a viewpoint to the optimistic leaning posters that they never really had. Like for instance, my belief that other than Ohtani or Soto there were no ways to really fix the offense last off season (none of the other options were anything more than lip stick on a pig) doesn't mean I believe Atkins isn't ultimately at fault or should be given a "free pass". But the morons just latched onto that notion and keep going with it.
  22. I haven't done that as far as I know but I'll use it as an indicator of whatever the f*** I want, thank you very much .
  23. But we do have expanded playoffs so who gives a s*** about what it'd be like if we didn't have them?
