  1. When the Jays basically already have 7 high quality SP's on their active MLB roster, yet are still rumored to be chasing more high quality SPs it makes you question everything.
  2. Good depth piece for sure, but Max isn't going to AAA so it doesn't make much sense unless he's going to sit out until injuries pile up or there are already some more injury concerns we don't know about.
  3. Yes please. Holy crap what a rotation the Jays would have, especially if Bieber is healthy.
  4. 4/$60 million for Varsho would be some tidy work. Wish he wasn't a Boras guy.
  5. Would have been nice to get Tucker as that elite OF bat, but the OF depth is solid. Varsho Barger Santander Lukes Straw Springer Schneider Loperfido Clase Schreck Varsho and Springer are the only ones not under control past this season.
  6. I give him a pass because he struggled with injuries last season but looked decent at the start of the season and the end of the season when he was supposedly healthy. Hanging by a thread though. If he can put up 85-95 wRC+ he's probably worth 3 or so fWAR as our GG level starting SS and #9 hitter. I can live with that no problem.
  7. I think Ernie has more than earned a full time starting IF spot after the last two seasons and a historic post season.
  8. Damn, that's another really good AL rotation in Texas.
  9. Phucking AL East Fangraphs AL projections: 1. Yankees 2, Blue Jays 3. Mariners 4. Red Sox 5. Orioles lol
  10. Also Yesavage over Francis who was a regular starter for the first couple months last season, and was TERRIBLE. Gausman to Gauusman Bassitt to Bieber Berrios to Cease Francis to Yesavage Schezer to Ponce It's beuatiful.
  11. Giminez was clearly a back up plan in case Bo walked and here we are, Bo is gone for a ridiculous 45 million per year and Giminez is our starting short stop. And guess what, the Jays are still projected to be the top team in the AL. Hilarious is right.
  12. Not sure why we're too worried about adding an OFer right now. There are no more Tuckers to chase after that I can see. Three of the Jays bench guys can play the OF and so can their DH in a pinch. They also have Loperido and Clase on the 40 man, and let's not forget about Schreck who may arrive in 2026. I'm hoping they can work out an extension with Varsho, but that might be tough since he's a Boras guy and the OF market next off season is razor thin.
  13. Clement and Giminez are going to provide elite up the middle defense, if they have league average bats they should combine for 6~ fWAR as our 8-9 hitters. Not concerned about them too much. Add in Varsho and Kirk, the middle of the diamond is freaking top notch defensively, and Straw is always kicking around as that stud outfield defensive replacement. Santander needs to bring the big Taters bat though, It's pretty important, and will leave a big hole if he repeats last years debacle. The biggest wild card is obviously Oka, on both offense and defense. The good news is the roster has tons of depth and versatility to cover for underperformance and/or injury. And the pitching looks oh so juicy on paper.
  14. We have all the same outfielders as last year. Plus Varsho isn't supposed to miss the first few months of the season. Taters gets a do-over and who knows what Schreck will turn into. This time last year nobody was thinking we were about to get a 2+ WAR season from Barger.
  15. It's hard to shake the PTSD from the 74 win 2024, but I'm excited. I think this is the best Jays team I've seen on paper in a long time. Maybe one of the best rotations they've ever put together, at least in the last 30 years. Bullpen is super deep. Defense is elite. And I think Popkins can squeeze even more offense out of a lot of these players. Just loaded from top to bottom with pains in the asses who are tough to strike out.
  16. I'd say the Jays are probably done. Nothing left in FA that is a clear upgrade on what we already have unless they want to sign Framber, but that seems unlikely. As for another bat, IIRC most of the same people were saying the same thing last year. Then the Jays finally signed Taters and he gave us absolutely nothing offensively, yet the Jays managed to be the 4th best offensive team in baseball anyways. Of course it's possible that everybody regresses and we suck, but it's also possible that Barger gives us a 4+ fWAR season out in right field while smashing 35+ dingers. Maybe Taters hits 35+ too. Nobody will be saying our top 4-5 hitters isn't good enough then.
  17. Pen is deep. It's so deep that guys like Flu, Fisher and Yariel aren't even on the 26 man. Hell, Yariel isn't even on the 40 man. Those guys combined for over 170 MLB innings last season.
  18. Despite all that the Jays remain ranked 2nd in MLB in projected fWAR They already did their heavy lifting.
  19. No, not counting Bo https://www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.aspx?position=Team
  20. LOL nice panic move by a s*** organization. Lose Tucker so they overpay for a 2B/SS when those spots are already covered only to probably shoe horn him into 3B. No wonder these clowns can't even make a Wild Card spot with a $300+ million payroll.
  21. Why the hell are you in full panic mode? The Jays are projected to be 5th in batting WAR, 5th in pitching WAR and 2nd in overall WAR in all of MLB. Plus we know how good their D is. Take a breath FFS, we are in great shape.
  22. Fool me once, shame on you Fool me twice, shame on me Fool me a third time, f*** MLB and the goddamn dodgers
  23. Holy crap Tucker, pick an effing team already
