    Yeah, im not saying he has tremendous value right now, but that weirdness yesterday didnt suddenly make him untradeable. Everybody knows what hes capable of and even as a quality #3 SP he's going to have value as a rental for a team in the race IMO We'll find out soon enough I guess.

    He's one of those fans that, from his armchair, knows more than the team president, GM, entire front office, coaching staff, medical teams and doctors. And as long as they haven't officially won a world series they're basically no better ran than the Rockies or Angels. Everything single thing they do needs to be questioned or else youre just sheep.

    Since completing the rebuild in 2021 the Jays have the 7th most wins in MLB, 4 playoff appearances (despite being in the toughest division) and were up 3 games to 2 in a World Series. That's not "mediocre". 20+ MLB teams wish they were that mediocre.

    Cool. Im glad hes back in action. Hes still pretty young, maybe he can turn into an elite high leverage lefty reliever for the Jays. I doubt being a starter is in the cards.

    I always thought Gausman would end up signing one year deals with the Jays until he was ready to call it a career. I didnt expect the team to regress this badly and I didn't expect Gausman to crater like he has this season either.

    The front office has been trying every single off season to sign the best bat available in free agency. Ohtani, Soto, Kyle Tucked-chin.

    Trading rentals for lottery tickets is a smart move obviously, but they shouldn't be trading anyone away who has control and will help win next season (and they likely won't), unless it's somehow an upgrade.

    What's the QO on Varsho and would he reject it? Looking at all the other potential options, getting Varsho back on a one year deal would be probably be the best possible outcome IMO.

    This season has gone down the pishadoo, what are the building blocks for next season? About $200 million estimated luxury tax payroll according to fangraphs, key arb eligible guys are Sanchez, Varland, Ernie, Lukes.. C - Kirk / Valenzuela 1B - Vladdy 2B - Clement 3B - Okamoto SS - Giminez OF - Barger, Santander, Lukes, Sanchez, Clase, Pinango, Straw (if $8m option picked up) SP - Cease, Yesavage, Ponce, Miles RP - Varland, Rogers, Hoffman, Fisher, Fluharty Should have lots of money to spend if Rogers doesn't cut back on the budget. Hopefully they can get some lottery tickets for Springer, Varsho, Gausman and Bieber.

    I wonder if Keys is going to be able to adjust to MLB pitching or is he just going to be another AAAA guy that destroys MiLB pitching and can't hit a lick in the show? Assuming Barger is healthy next season, there could be an influx of power to the line up. Okamoto Barger Santander Vladdy (if he ever figures out how to fix his LA) Sanchez Keys Nimmala (assuming he makes his debut at some point)

    The biggest reason for this teams drop off is the offense and the biggest reason the offense has dropped off IMO is lack of patience at the plate (pitch selection). As a group they're hacking away at pitchers pitches way too often.
