  1. Clement and Giminez are going to provide elite up the middle defense, if they have league average bats they should combine for 6~ fWAR as our 8-9 hitters. Not concerned about them too much. Add in Varsho and Kirk, the middle of the diamond is freaking top notch defensively, and Straw is always kicking around as that stud outfield defensive replacement. Santander needs to bring the big Taters bat though, It's pretty important, and will leave a big hole if he repeats last years debacle. The biggest wild card is obviously Oka, on both offense and defense. The good news is the roster has tons of depth and versatility to cover for underperformance and/or injury. And the pitching looks oh so juicy on paper.
  2. We have all the same outfielders as last year. Plus Varsho isn't supposed to miss the first few months of the season. Taters gets a do-over and who knows what Schreck will turn into. This time last year nobody was thinking we were about to get a 2+ WAR season from Barger.
  3. It's hard to shake the PTSD from the 74 win 2024, but I'm excited. I think this is the best Jays team I've seen on paper in a long time. Maybe one of the best rotations they've ever put together, at least in the last 30 years. Bullpen is super deep. Defense is elite. And I think Popkins can squeeze even more offense out of a lot of these players. Just loaded from top to bottom with pains in the asses who are tough to strike out.
  4. I'd say the Jays are probably done. Nothing left in FA that is a clear upgrade on what we already have unless they want to sign Framber, but that seems unlikely. As for another bat, IIRC most of the same people were saying the same thing last year. Then the Jays finally signed Taters and he gave us absolutely nothing offensively, yet the Jays managed to be the 4th best offensive team in baseball anyways. Of course it's possible that everybody regresses and we suck, but it's also possible that Barger gives us a 4+ fWAR season out in right field while smashing 35+ dingers. Maybe Taters hits 35+ too. Nobody will be saying our top 4-5 hitters isn't good enough then.
  5. Pen is deep. It's so deep that guys like Flu, Fisher and Yariel aren't even on the 26 man. Hell, Yariel isn't even on the 40 man. Those guys combined for over 170 MLB innings last season.
  6. Despite all that the Jays remain ranked 2nd in MLB in projected fWAR They already did their heavy lifting.
  7. No, not counting Bo https://www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.aspx?position=Team
  8. LOL nice panic move by a s*** organization. Lose Tucker so they overpay for a 2B/SS when those spots are already covered only to probably shoe horn him into 3B. No wonder these clowns can't even make a Wild Card spot with a $300+ million payroll.
  9. Why the hell are you in full panic mode? The Jays are projected to be 5th in batting WAR, 5th in pitching WAR and 2nd in overall WAR in all of MLB. Plus we know how good their D is. Take a breath FFS, we are in great shape.
  10. Fool me once, shame on you Fool me twice, shame on me Fool me a third time, f*** MLB and the goddamn dodgers
  11. Holy crap Tucker, pick an effing team already
  12. Come on Tucker. Don't do us like Ohtani and Soto did.
  13. I f***ing hate the AL east
  14. Welp, that's much better than it being the other way around for a change. Come on Tucker, sign with the Jays and let's win some World Series banners.
  15. Signing anyone else right now is a luxury, not a "must". Don't get me wrong, I hope it happens but the team is great on paper as is.
  16. Damn, I was really hoping Skubal would sign a big extension in Detroit. Way better than having him end up on the Yankees or Red Sox. Imagine going into a playoff series with those two teams and having to face Skubal/Crochet or Skubal/Cole? Gross. Yankees have been just laying in the weeds all off season so far too.
  17. Would love to see Varsho extended at a fair price. The middle of the diamond would be secured defensively for several years with elite defensive players in Kirk, Giminez, Clement and Varsho. Clement and Varsho the oldest at 29 and all of them having shown the ability in the past to be good enough offensively to be 3+ fWAR players when combined with their elite defense.
  18. Maaaan c'mon Tucker please pick us. Don't do us like Soto and Ohtani did.
  19. Why anyone would sign a deal with the tire fire Mets is beyond me. Especially if the Jays are one of the other top suitors trying to sign you.
  20. $15,000,000 $8,250,000 $17,250,000 $17,250,000 $17,250,000
  21. Like I mentioned earlier, the Oka signing gave the Jays enough of a nudge to move ahead of the Yankees in fWAR projections and into 2nd place overall. If they sign Bo or Tucker they will be breathing down the Dodgers necks.
  22. Agreed, the Jays seeming willingness to spend changes a lot of things. I don't care if they sign Bo or Tucker and it forces Taters to be a bench bat as long he's not a malcontent in the room and if the Jays don't care about his money on the bench I sure don't.
  23. LMAO look at the Jays bench right now... 1. Heineman - 2.1 fWAR on 174 PA's 2. Lukes - 1.8 fWAR on 438 PA's 3. Schneider - 1.3 fWAR on 227 PA's 4. Straw - 1.8 fWAR on 299 PA's
