  1. Hopefully two months from now we're looking back on the last two games of this series as the turning point.
  2. Thanks. Signal back just in time to catch the strike out pitch
  3. Jesus christ the guy is 4 outs away and a storm comes and blocks my satellite signal. Like seriously?
  4. Well, they are trying very hard to make the FOs direction at the deadline a very easy decision. Too bad that just about all the players on expiring contracts are playing like bags of wet crap. Bieber, Gausman, Springer, Varsho, etc Just not getting the job done.
  5. Gausman and Bieber really struggling, I guess the good news is they're both FA's after the season. If they can't turn it around you can just move on with Cease, Yesavage, Miles and Ponce. Vladdy is the scary situation.
  6. I see Tiedemann pitched on the 16th and 20th and has since gone back in to the ether once again. I mean, it was two whole innings in 4 days and all.
  7. Odd take..... Rogers runs one of the highest payrolls. It'd be even higher if more guys would take their money, like Ohtani, Soto or Tucker. The front office has done their job too. They doubled down on a team that won 94 games last year and came within an inch of winning a world series. This is on the players who are underperforming and a terrible run of injury luck.
  8. In other news....Jake Bloss sucks 4 IP, 11 hits, 11 earned runs, 1 walk, 2 Ks, 4 HRs given up and he's sporting a 14.29 ERA in AAA so far
  9. Perry shoved in his AA debut. 7 Ks, 2 walks, 1 hit, 0 runs in 3 IP
  10. Perry using the Yesavage development ladder since coming back from last years injury
  11. This is the weirdest season i can remember. There are only three teams in the AL with positive run differential, one with +2, one with +8 and then the goddamn Yankees with +113 It almost feels like we should throw in the towel, this team cant seem to get their sheeit together, but somehow we are currently in a wild card spot lmao. Like WTF??
  12. Well, this is a pretty important stretch coming up. Jays are getting Bieber back and will hopefully be running out the best rotation we've had all season provided there are no more injuries. On top of that, after today they play 10 straight games at home against sub .500 non-playoff teams that are all below them in the standings. Don't f*** it up fellas.
  13. Too bad, I'd hoped Little and Rodriguez would find their confidence in AAA and return as better relievers. They have so much swing and miss. A back end of the bullpen where Little and Yariel both have the ability to command their grade A stuff, Hoffman doesn't get BABIP'ed to death and you add them to Rogers and peak Varland....I mean I want to live in that world. Any lead after the 6th inning would be nailed down 99% of the time.
  14. Basically it goes like this, if the other team scores runs it's John Schneiders fault. He either left the starter in too long, took him out too early, or took him out at the right time but used the wrong reliever.
  15. I just want to watch them roll out Cease, Gausman, Yesavage, Bieber, and whoever (Corbin I guess) for the next couple of months. Is that too much to ask? Hopefully the injury bug can let us enjoy the summer.
  16. Really good to see Yesavage have a start like that, aside from the 8th inning. He'd had a rough go of it lately, especially with the walks.
  17. Man, what the hell is wrong with Adames? Can't hit or field this year apparently. My first thought when the Giants were mentioned was hell yeah let's get Adames. He's Giminez but with a 100 wRC+ bat instead of 70 wRC+ bat for $10 million more. Just tanking this year though apparently.
  18. They aren't selling when they're this close to a WC spot and the teams ahead of us aren't exactly juggernauts. Jays still haven't had a single week all year with even 4/5ths of their best rotation healthy. Hell, a couple weeks ago all they had was 2/5ths of their rotation starting with two goddamn bullpen days in a 4 man rotation. Well, this might be the first week we actually see it happen with Bieber returning, provided no one else gets injured. Hopefully it gives them a shot in the arm and they can get on a roll for the next month and a half. I'd rather they SPEND some of the prospect capital they've built up and grab a guy like Buxton. His bat could really give the Jays offense a boost.
  19. Well this thread got olerud'ed (aka ruined)
  20. Things I did not expect at this point in the season.... 1. Dalton Varsho is now our leading fWAR position player with 1.2 2. Brandon Valenzuela is our second highest fWAR pp with 0.9 (RIP Heiny when Kirk comes back) 3. Kaz Okamoto has better defense than offense so far 4. Ernie Clement has better offense than defense so far 5. Yohendrick Pinango is now our leader in wRC+ at 121, also has half the fWAR as Vlad in 1/4 the at bats. Also, Springer, Straw, Kirk, Barger, Lukes and Heineman combined for 19.1 fWAR last season, due to injury and underperformance they have combined for -0.2 fWAR so far this season. Oh baseball you crazy little bugger you.
  21. 1. Skubal 2. Cease 3. Gausman 4. Yesavage 5. Bieber
  22. I wonder if the Jays could swing a trade for another high velocity BP arm for one of their LH hitting corner OFs? Someone like Vodnik? Sanchez for Vodnik? Edit - just noticed Vodnik is out for 4 to 6 weeks Anyways, Id love the Jays to dig up another Varland type pitcher with control. Someone with velocity and stuff they can help mold into another high leverage monster. I'm not asking much here.....haha
  23. Berrios either didn't know he was seriously hurt or chose to pitch through it. Would explain the steady decline in his velocity and stuff. Hes only 32. If he gets surgery and comes back healthy next season maybe we see an uptick in his velocity and stuff again and he returns to being a solid mid rotation arm in the last two years of his deal.
