  1. If Yimi is healthy that is already a big boost to the bullpen, plus having Varland from the start of the season should also be a boost. Its sexy on paper thinking about bringing in big time closers as long as the cost doesn't hold you back in other areas. Probably much better off spending the money you'd use on a guy like Saurez and bring in two quality arms for the same price, such as Keller and Rogers for example, or Seranthony and Fairbanks.
  2. Tucker's IG post? Vladdy's comment? Any info would be appreciated.
  3. Imagine Rogers having the patience and foresight to stick with Ross the Boss not just after the disappointment of 2023, but then an anomolous 74 win 2024 as well. Cojones of steel in the face of wavering fan support.
  4. Gawd I hope so.
  5. I dunno dude, I seem to remember you saying you wanted Varsho catapulted into the sun. Doesn't seem like you'd get much of a return on that lol. Anyways, my point is sometimes we need to be patient. If they land Tucker and/or bring back Bo that changes things, but as it stands right now I'd rather see if the guy bounces back. No sense paying to get rid of him at the lowest value hes had in probably his whole career.
  6. I didn't compare them. I just mentioned how only a year and a half ago you wanted to punt Varsho for nothing. Just wanted him gone. Sounds familiar.
  7. It wasn't that long Jonn wanted to punt Varsho into the sun too. Hopefully Taters has a bounce back season in 2026. He's probably slated to be the main DH by 2027 so could still be useful down the road. Jays still haven't signed Bo or Tucker either, so a healthy Tony Taters could be a very needed bat in 2026.
  8. 100 miles...Miles??
  9. Well at least it's been reported that Tucker has been in talks with the Jays, and even toured their facilities in Dunedin, that way we know they are driving up the price on him for when he ultimately chooses the Dodgers. It wouldn't really feel like a proper off season without the Jays being close to signing the biggest position player free agent lmao
  10. I would be very interested to know if that was actually the best offer Diaz received or if he just chose the Dodgers.
  11. Obviously Diaz picked the dodgers. Can't beat em join em. I doubt that was the best offer he received.
  12. f*** the Dodgers and f*** Edwin Diaz I hope his arm falls off in spring training
  13. Some LA sports media guy (David Pingalore) claiming the Dodgers are potentially in talks with the Tigers about a mega trade involving Skubal. Sounds like horseshit to me, but could you imagine lol Skubal Yamamoto Snell Ohtani Glasnow
  14. Bichette on the Red Sox or Yankees is disgusting. Don't do it dude.
  15. Yeah it's definitely the least likely option.
  16. I'm also interested to see what they do with Bowden Francis. Kind of feels like the best option would be to put him back as a reliever again and see if he can stick in that role. Or maybe he just sucks. That 2-3 month stretch in 2024 was tantalizing though.
  17. It'll be interesting to see how his spring goes. He ever pitched a single inning in the AFL. I was looking forward to seeing how he did there. Hopefully he is healthy and ends up taking a bullpen spot as a flame throwing reliever. He was 93-96mph as a starter. Possible he could be 98mph+ as a reliever in short bursts.
  18. At what point do the Jays have to make a decision on Bastardo? Since he's a rule 5 pick he has to be on the 26 man roster, but when is the deadline line for that? End of spring training?
  19. That was my original thought as well, then I went a saw how many starters they have down there already.
  20. Smart move then to free up a 2nd spot on the 40 man. Hopefully they have a couple of signings coming soon then.
  21. 18-20 potential starting pitchers at AAA and AA combined is a normal full roster? I don't recall ever seeing the Jays with that many before.
  22. This honestly has to be plan D or E if the Jays strike out on several other options first.
  23. Man this org has a lot of starting pitching at every level. 7 in MLB counting Lauer not counting Bloss who's injured 8 in AAA not counting guys like Amalfi, Wallace and Harrison who do start at times plus now maybe Yariel too 7 in AA
  24. Maybe they're going to try stretching Yariel out as a starter again in AAA.
  25. If they're willing and able to get both Bo and Tucker my ideal line up would be: C Kirk 1B Vlad 2B Bo 3B Clement SS Giminez LF Tucker CF Varsho RF Barger DH Springer Taters would get reps in LF and DH Clement would be all over the infield, 3B, 2B, 1B and SS Barger would get some 3B Speaking of 1B, jays don't really have anyone with experience at 1B. So unless they bring in someone else it's probably Clement who will spell Vladdy out once in a while? I wonder Tony Taters can take some reps there too?
