LOL nice panic move by a s*** organization. Lose Tucker so they overpay for a 2B/SS when those spots are already covered only to probably shoe horn him into 3B. No wonder these clowns can't even make a Wild Card spot with a $300+ million payroll.

Why the hell are you in full panic mode? The Jays are projected to be 5th in batting WAR, 5th in pitching WAR and 2nd in overall WAR in all of MLB. Plus we know how good their D is. Take a breath FFS, we are in great shape.

Signing anyone else right now is a luxury, not a "must". Don't get me wrong, I hope it happens but the team is great on paper as is.

Damn, I was really hoping Skubal would sign a big extension in Detroit. Way better than having him end up on the Yankees or Red Sox. Imagine going into a playoff series with those two teams and having to face Skubal/Crochet or Skubal/Cole? Gross. Yankees have been just laying in the weeds all off season so far too.

Would love to see Varsho extended at a fair price. The middle of the diamond would be secured defensively for several years with elite defensive players in Kirk, Giminez, Clement and Varsho. Clement and Varsho the oldest at 29 and all of them having shown the ability in the past to be good enough offensively to be 3+ fWAR players when combined with their elite defense.

Why anyone would sign a deal with the tire fire Mets is beyond me. Especially if the Jays are one of the other top suitors trying to sign you.

Like I mentioned earlier, the Oka signing gave the Jays enough of a nudge to move ahead of the Yankees in fWAR projections and into 2nd place overall. If they sign Bo or Tucker they will be breathing down the Dodgers necks.

Agreed, the Jays seeming willingness to spend changes a lot of things. I don't care if they sign Bo or Tucker and it forces Taters to be a bench bat as long he's not a malcontent in the room and if the Jays don't care about his money on the bench I sure don't.

LMAO look at the Jays bench right now... 1. Heineman - 2.1 fWAR on 174 PA's 2. Lukes - 1.8 fWAR on 438 PA's 3. Schneider - 1.3 fWAR on 227 PA's 4. Straw - 1.8 fWAR on 299 PA's

I dunno, Giminez battled injuries last year. He was good at the start when he was healthy, and he was good at the end when he got healthy again. I think he gets the full time SS duties to start and keeps them unless he falls on his face with the bat again. I would not be shocked if he put up a 3 fWAR season, all he needs is a 90-95 wRC+ bat to do it. This all reminds of the Varsho discussions of years past. He was playing LF because of KK and struggling to have a league average bat. As soon as he got the full time CF gig and put up a 99 wRC+ he had a 3.1 fWAR season. Now under Popkins he's 120 wRC+ and trending for closer to 5 fWAR over a full season.

I can see Oka filling the #2 spot in the batting order, ala Lukes last season.

I think they are in the same market as the Jays for Bo and Tucker .If the Jays sign both, they can't. I guess they could pivot to Bregman, although I don't see the fit.

No. As per fangraphs Jays sit at $308 million ELTP Dodgers currently at $339 million
