  1. Man, what a tidy piece of business to get taken care of before the off-season has even gotten going. A potential top of the rotation arm for $16 million. Great start. Now go get Skubal.
  2. You would think at some point this winter they will announce an extension. Seems crazy to take this option when he clearly could have went to free agency and gotten at worst 2x$25million AAV or something like that.
  3. He sure seemed to like it with the Jays, thought an extension might happen but no way did I think he'd take his option.. Awesome news. More payroll flexibility for a team that might be spending huge money anyways.
  4. Unfinished business.
  5. Holy phuckballs that is fantastic news! Wow. Literally shocked. 1. Bieber 2. Gausman 3. Yesavage 4. Berrios 5. Lauer I wonder if they look to bring the Hound back, or if they try to go hunting for a bigger fish.
  6. If they did all that and were able to unload Berrios somewhere, I think that'd put them close to $300 million payroll. Would be pretty damn sweet. You'd have last years team but with Bieber, Yesavage and Domiguez from the beginning. And hopefully a healthy Varsho and Giminez. As long as they didn't have a ton of regression it's probably a 95+ win team.
  7. Why not just keep Lukes for the bench and knock his PA's down from 400+ to 200+ ? Assuming everyone else is healthy anyways. He's cheap, still has an option and obviously is a positive in the room.
  8. Hopefully the bench is made up of Heineman, Straw, Lukes and Schneider this season. They provided 6 fWAR last season on roughly 1100 PA's in 2025. If Varsho and Santander are healthy, they will take away a good chunk of those PA's but they still provide solid depth. Signing either Bo or an OF bat like Belly/Tucker will make that happen.
  9. I cringe at the thought of Santander out there phucking up the outfield defense, hopefully he at least brings his 35+ HR bat with him. One more season though, and the plan is probably for him to take over as DH for George when his contract ends.
  10. Such electric stuff and still so young. Hopefully he and Stanifer are so good next season at AAA that they can't be denied and force their way onto the MLB roster at some point, even as relievers to start, if need be.
  11. Hopefully the blame game starts to dissipate over time. Pretty much every single player had a hand in getting that awesome team through 162 games with 94 wins, three rounds of playoffs and within two outs of winning it all in the top of 9, and then again just one bounce or a measly inch from winning it all i the bottom of 9. I'm sure they feel the pain at a much higher level than any of us fans do. Honestly pisses me off to see post after post dragging so many players through the mud because of the mistakes they made leading up to it. Nature of the beast I guess, but it still irks me. It was by far the best Blue Jays team I've followed in my adult life and hopefully there is more to come with so many of these players returning.
  12. Starting depth: 1. Gausman 2. Yesavage 3. Berrios 4. Lauer 5. Francis - Gets another chance? Tiedemann - Probably starts in AAA? Bastardo - Maybe starts as reliever? Varland - convert him? Bloss - mid season returning i think Lucas - bleh Estrada - AAA depth probably Macko - same as Estrada Stanifer - maybe he torches AAA and is up by June? I mean, if they only just re-signed Bassitt and Scherzer the team is probably pretty good again. Hopefully they land a bigger gun though.
  13. Haha yeah. He'd almost be like found money in your old jacket pocket at this point.
  14. Whats the latest on Tiedemann? Hopefully he's ready to go by spring training. I guess the low bar for expectations on him is that he actually stay healthy all season and still has electric stuff in AAA. But it sure would be nice if he came out of nowhere and shoved in 2026 as a legit MLB starters option by May or June.
  15. Apparently on Blair and Barker today they say we should expect to see Varland starting next season. I'm certainly not against stretching him out and seeing how it goes.
  16. Ugh I don't like thought of torching our beautiful infield defense with Saurez butchering plays at 3B all season long.
  17. If you're worried Ernie will go from 90 wRC+ to 70 wRC+ I guess it could happen, I don't see the glove regressing though. At worst he'll be a ~2 fWAR defender batting in the 8 or 9 spot IMO. On the flip side, if Giminez can go from 70 wRC+ to 90 wRC+ he probably has a 3-4 fWAR season incoming.
  18. If Bo doesn't come back I wouldn't bother chasing another MIF in FA I'd just put Clement at 2B and Barger at 3B, and then you have Jiminez and Kasevich for depth. Kasevich supposedly has a real good glove and is hard to strike out. Could be another Clement. I would go hard after Tucker or Bellinger though.
  19. 10-14 looks a lot better than 0-6 but not as good as 11-13 😔
  20. With Yesavage's meteoric rise this season he is obviously 99.9% untouchable. It's not like he was torching AAA and then his season ended. The dude blew the doors off the best teams in the MLB playoffs on the biggest stage. Every MLB start he's had so far has been pressure packed with everything on the line. He looks like he'll immediately slot into one of the top 3 spots in the rotation and likely excel, and for dirt cheap. The Jays aren't trading him for an older SP ace who has 1 year left of control and will cost $300 million to keep around.
  21. Varsho had 20 this season with half a seasons worth of PAs And do we really think Springer is going to go into the tank again next season? Could easily have 5 guys hit 30+ bombs next year. I don't think anyone would fall out of their chairs in surprise if it happened.
  22. You know they absolutely will, but these little pricks never pick us. He'll probably end up on either the Yankees, Mets or a Cali team.
  23. How good do we think Barger is going to be next year? Dude struggled hard the last couple months of the season but then demolished the post season like a stud against some of the best pitching on the planet. We looking at 35 bombs, 130 wRC+ and 3.5 fWAR season incoming?
  24. EFF me. The Red Sox with Crochet/Skubal? The Yankees with Cole/Skubal/Fried/Rodon/Schlittler? Please don't let either of those happen.
  25. I think it's hilarious there is still one idiot left running around calling for Atkins head after the season we just witnessed. And it's not just the one season. This team has been in the post season 4 of 6 seasons now and as many of us have said, the GMs job is to build a team/core that can get in multiple times over a 5 to 10 year period and hope that they have everything go right in at least one of those playoff appearances and win it all. They were literally one inch away from doing it this time. And most of this team is set to return, this probably won't be their last crack at winning it all. Atkins is responsible for the team with BY FAR the best winning percentage by decades in team history. And yes, I realize they spend a lot of money, but so do the Yankees and Red Sox plus we've also got the pesky ass Rays in this division too. He's done a fantastic job overall.
