  1. I think it's hilarious there is still one idiot left running around calling for Atkins head after the season we just witnessed. And it's not just the one season. This team has been in the post season 4 of 6 seasons now and as many of us have said, the GMs job is to build a team/core that can get in multiple times over a 5 to 10 year period and hope that they have everything go right in at least one of those playoff appearances and win it all. They were literally one inch away from doing it this time. And most of this team is set to return, this probably won't be their last crack at winning it all. Atkins is responsible for the team with BY FAR the best winning percentage by decades in team history. And yes, I realize they spend a lot of money, but so do the Yankees and Red Sox plus we've also got the pesky ass Rays in this division too. He's done a fantastic job overall.
  2. Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how far they will go with the payroll. Honestly, I would be more than happy with just two out of three of Skubal / Bieber / Bo. And literally any two of the three. I think the offense can survive without Bo if they won't push the payroll that high.
  3. I now he'd never do it, but I'd love to see Bassitt back as a reliever haha. He was nails in that role this post season, game 7 home run not withstanding. Love Sherzer and Bassitt, but I hope to see much higher ceiling options brought in to fill out the rotation. Still not sure what to make of Bieber. He was pretty good, but not "ace" good. Certainly wouldn't be upset if they got him extended though, say 3-4 x $25 million or so? I mean I guess a dream off season could be... 1. Trade for Skubal and extend 2. Extend Bieber 3-4 x $25 million 3. Extend Bo to a Adames type deal and move him to 2B That way you can keep Lauer in the pen as a multi inning guy and 6th starter. Move Francis back into a reliever role Bastardo, if he's good can start out as a reliever on the MLB roster so you don't lose him SP 1 - Skubal SP 2 - Bieber SP 3 - Gausman SP 4 - Yesavage SP 5 - Berrios CL - Hoffman SU - Yimi SU - Varland LR - Lauer Build the rest of the pen from Flu, Little, Fisher, Rodriguez, Bastardo, Francis, Nance, Burr, Sandlin, Bruihl, Tate, Jennings, etc
  4. Trading for Skubal and signing him to an extension would be miraculous. Re-signing Bo and having him move to 2B would also be great.
  5. Disappointing end for sure, but it feels like the Jays org turned a corner this year and most of this team will be back next year. I doubt it will be their last crack at winning a World Series. Especially if Vladdy has found another level like he showed this post season.
  6. Most of the horses are set to return. They should have money to spend to patch the holes, providing they can lure some players to sign in TO. Hopefully this run helps with that.
  7. $500+ million luxury tax payroll wasn't enough, the Dodgers had to bogart all the luck too. Just phucking sickening watching those lucky pieces of shite celebrate another WS title after being handily outplayed and outscored over the 7 games. The wrong team definitely won tonight.
  8. If Bo re-signs that'll be the line up next year too probably, plus Santander. But, first things first.......
  9. While obviously all the winning doesn't hurt, he sure seems to rave about his team mates. Would be great to have him sign an extension with the Jays.
  10. Man I get a kick out of thinking about all the casual fans of other teams watching this World Series and googling "Nathan Lukes", "Ernie Clement", "Addison Barger" etc while thinking "who the eff are these guys?!"
  11. This is even better if Giminez is going to be the SS going forward, which I'm sure he will be. If he can put up a 90-95 wRC+ next season while playing SS he's probably good for 3-4 fWAR
  12. So pumped for Gausman to get the ball tomorrow, only thing is the offense seems to be very stingy with the run support when he hits the bump. Is it just me, or does anyone else notice this?
  13. Loving hearing Bo say his goal is to play his entire career in Toronto. Don't think I've ever heard of him saying something like that before. If he signs for around $25 million AAV and moves to 2B, this team is set up for a really nice potential multi year run.
  14. Bo coming back as a 2B would be beautiful. $26 million AAV or so? DH Springer C Kirk 1B Vladdy 2B Bo SS Giminez 3B Clement /Barger LF Santander / Straw CF Varsho RF Barger / Lukes Bench - Heineman, Straw, Lukes, Schneider OF depth - Loperfido, Clase, Schrek, Pinango IF depth - Jiminez, Kasevich Get a couple starters and repeating as AL champs will be super easy to make.
  15. Jays win % by decade: #6 - 1970's - 0.343 (The Expansion era) #5 - 2010's - 0.490 (The AA "Flash in the pan" era) #4 - 2000's - 0.497 (The JP Riccardi era) #3 - 1990's - 0.515 (The B2B World Series champs era) #2 - 1980's - 0.523 (The get the franchise off the ground era) #1 - 2020's - 0.543 (The "Ross the Boss" Atkins has rebuilt the MFing Jays era)
  16. Hopefully this leads to Bo signing an extension with the Jays and being willing to move to 2B full time. But first hopefully it leads to the Jays winning the World Series
  17. Yeah, Ernie had a homer taken away by Arozarena and how many rockets did the Jays hit right at guys with Bryce Miller on the mound?
  18. Haha I just read this thread from the start. What a tire fire. Ross "The Boss" Atkins turning s*** into potpourri
  19. Wow, awesome. Which one did you miss? Joe Carters WS winner?
  20. Hopefully Berrios' downfall was just him wearing down and he gets right during the off season. Francis I could see converting back to a reliever again maybe.
  21. I keep trying to tell myself just making it this far is amazing enough, and losing to a $400 million payroll team ain't no biggie, but goddamn it would be so sweet to win this sucker since they made it here anyways. I thought the coach had turned back into a pumpkin when they lost games 1 & 2 to the Mariners at home. This plucky team is something else. If anyone can KO the Dodgers, it's these feisty buggers.
