  1. Is there statcast in the park? I think it is concerning statcast numbers that have cost him.
  2. He literally said it was from August in his post dude. That being said, it is important to note that all of that 55 million is now off the books as it was mostly from traded players.
  3. One thing that stood out to me was we had more guys who got votes than AA’s braves did. I found that interesting.
  4. Age. Vlad is so much younger and hasn’t shown signs of bat speed slowing down that Alonso has.
  5. To some extent I bet they do, except it may be different for teams without much money to spend. Ie the Pirates deal with rumours of what player is getting traded away.
  6. Jays had one player make the top 100…just barely. Tiedemann came in at 100. However a number of guys just missed as Yesavage, Nimmala and Orelvis Martinez made the list of 15 who just missed.
  7. If there is one thing we know about Snider it is that the dude could handle his meat.
  8. One thing I found AA excelled at was restocking the cupboard. He would trade from his prospect pool (like in 2013) but then build it back up with assets again pretty quickly. you also have to figure he would have kept Price around for 2016 and who knows what that could have meant.
  9. Holy hell, that’s like 13-20 years of payroll for some other teams.
  10. Right, I forgot about the escrow part (and that it doesn’t count against CBT when it does get paid out…although watch that change in the next CBA)
  11. True, but it means they are penalizing future teams to likely take this team from 5th to 4th.
  12. I am not sure how I feel about the deferred money in this deal. It’s like borrowing money to put a performance tire on one wheel of my Ford Pinto.
  13. Oh yeah? How many gold gloves does Devers have? /sarcasm gold gloves are ridiculous
  14. I am curious, which half are you referring to? Personally, I wouldn’t trade a season for a cap. Even with a cap (or capped salaries) players will still choose the allure and sunshine of LA over other locations. So now other teams will have to pay a larger percentage of their cap to attract players essentially still giving the LA and NY teams an advantage.
  15. He should be in Buffalo but Atkins will have him on the roster to try to save face
  16. He has misread the off-season many years too either signing guys too quickly in soft markets where late deals are present or waiting too long and missing out in the years when the market moves faster.
  17. 2 million in bonus pool money on Jan. 16 has nowhere near the value of the 46th pick because 100s of players are already committed or signed by that point.
  18. This actually does make sense given the infatuation this front office has for defense only players. It’s still a bad trade given they could have had the contract for free or with other prospects attached(not sure 2 million in bonus pool does much post Jan 15)
  19. I can’t answer for him, but I can for myself. I have been a fan since being a kid in the 80’s. I hate what this front office has done the last couple of years to my favourite team in all of sports. I want to see them do better so desperately and I know that won’t happen with this front office. So I will complain and I will still watch. But Honesty, it was boring baseball for much of last year so if that persists my watching will decrease.
  20. Bigger question is as Phillies GM, why do you help your rival sign Sasaki for that?
  21. Straw was out righted off the Gaurdians roster last year. It was the kind of contract you should get prospects with for taking not one you give up a PTBNL. Let’s just hope the player was tied to if they signed Roki or not.
  22. The Straw trade was next level incompetence from Atkins.
  23. Even the 16 year olds were smarter than our front office about our chances.
