    I tend to agree hence my play on 10 cent head/500 million dollar head. It makes zero sense that where you bat in the lineup should impact your numbers, but the numbers back up Vlad's opinion he hits better at 3rd.

    While we are talking splits, Here's Vlad by position in the batting order. Is it time to give in and just let his $500 million dollar head bat third?

    I think the issue many people have is by the time he was good last year the Jays were already out of it. Hopefully the bats pick up this year before that happens.

    Could Schneider be batting him fourth to make a point about the roster construction perhaps? It’s not like team is full of great options for clean up hitters.

    Kirby Yates blew a game today too. They may not have won all three of those games with someone else brought in.

    Hitting the ball hard. Problem is it is into the ground too often. But when he gets on a hot streak it can last months and look out then.

    This is at least the third season in a row with tough schedules to start. It was especially bad the previous two years due to the Orioles and Rays getting quick starts due to easy opening schedules. The fact they are doing well this year through it is a good sign so far. Last year especially it felt like all the high leverage games early in the season really taxed the arms and they paid for it later in the season.

    Babies are expensive and major league salary is much nicer than minor league salary.

    Arenado on why he vetoed a trade to the Astros. “[Kyle Tucker] is one of the best players in the game,” said Arenado, via The Athletic’s Chandler Rome. “When you see a team trade him, 99 out of 100 players would probably be wondering, ‘What does that mean?’ That’s the question I asked myself. And obviously if I went there, [Alex] Bregman wouldn’t have been going there — that’s another player.” This definitely shows that not having Vlad or Bo locked up would have been hurting the Jays in negotiations trying to convince players to come play in Toronto. Hopefully with Vlad locked up that changes.

    who you take in the draft should not be impacted by the minor league or major league rosters one bit. Take the best player available regardless of position.

    Small sample size alert, but Kirk's metric on defense have ticked back this year too so far. I know I've certainly noticed some balls getting by him that wouldn't have in past years. He has been a bit faster at least. That's been my biggest concern is having a station to station singles hitter is not ideal.

    The CBA (as far as competitive balance tac is concerned) really needs to have something in it to balance the tax differences for different teams.

    Something that occurred to me this week. Vlad doesn’t bring much to the table other than his bat and I am not sure anyone would argue that he has a better bat than Yordan but is getting paid much more with a far larger guarantee. Him and Antony took the Jays to the proverbial cleaners.

    I can't see this happening at this point. Scherzer also probably needs the time between starts to recover at this point.
