    I was thinking this morning that I miss the homerun contest that used to run. Then it dawned on me that the Yankees have as many homers in three pitches as we do in four games. I miss the long ball.

    Sugano feels like the guy of kind the Jays should hit well against but will still dominate them.

    And our two biggest additions this offseason ...Venezuelan. Venezuelan - Giminez and Santandar Cuban - Yariel Hopefully they have/can maintain green cards while playing for the JAys.

    Alonso strikes me as the kind of guy who would be afraid of the metric system so I never thought it was possible he was coming here.

    It really saddens me that 150 innings is the bar for an innings water now.

    Did they figure out how to get steroids and HGH past the testers? Seems like that might be needed to pull a Clemens.

    My thoughts on this is he figures this team either does well and he has a chance in the playoffs or they don’t and they blow it up and send him to a contender at the deadline.

    There are some questions in the advanced metrics as to how much longer Alonso would provide that one dimension even. And to be fair, Giménez also offers speed in addition to being absolutely elite on defense.

    Is there statcast in the park? I think it is concerning statcast numbers that have cost him.

    He literally said it was from August in his post dude. That being said, it is important to note that all of that 55 million is now off the books as it was mostly from traded players.

    Age. Vlad is so much younger and hasn’t shown signs of bat speed slowing down that Alonso has.

    To some extent I bet they do, except it may be different for teams without much money to spend. Ie the Pirates deal with rumours of what player is getting traded away.

    Jays had one player make the top 100…just barely. Tiedemann came in at 100. However a number of guys just missed as Yesavage, Nimmala and Orelvis Martinez made the list of 15 who just missed.

    If there is one thing we know about Snider it is that the dude could handle his meat.

    One thing I found AA excelled at was restocking the cupboard. He would trade from his prospect pool (like in 2013) but then build it back up with assets again pretty quickly. you also have to figure he would have kept Price around for 2016 and who knows what that could have meant.

    Holy hell, that’s like 13-20 years of payroll for some other teams.
