  1. Looks like it was just because it was the Yankees. That may be the only team Vlad can play against
  2. Schneider thinks it's July Barger at the plate still.
  3. No I'm just making the point that throughout the season it seems like Schneider is very much willing to ride and die with Little and Hoffman. So many of us won't be surprised if Little and Hoffman come back to help cost us the season.
  4. Great to see Lukes. Barger continues to bat too high. It's been pretty evident for a while that Schneider will gladly watch our season dissipate in the hands of Little and Hoffman, although I will grant you it's the offense that really lost the game yesterday. One of the two or three worst performances of the season. Awful.
  5. Wow, completely shut down after that first inning. This was our advantage game.
  6. Everybody was so confident we would kick their ass in this game, but it's just never that easy. Not scoring more runs emboldened them to steal this game. Now we face their bullpen. Yay.
  7. Nance was a solid pitcher. He was rusty, understandably, like almost our entire pen.
  8. Pretty much what was expected except for the Scherzer/Nance decision. Hopefully we never have a reason to see Max. Unless we're killing them of course
  9. Now that the Bo thing is settled, and really has been settled for a few days I would think, I'm much more interested in the other decisions that were made.
  10. No Bo apparently. Maybe this great misdirection will throw a massive monkey wrench into the plans of the unprepared Mariners.
  11. It's not hockey, there's nothing to gain by hiding this. It's not like the Mariners don't know what's wrong with him. It's not like they can target him the way they do in hockey, no matter what happens they know he's not close to 100% with that knee.
  12. Well this is obviously about pain isn't it? He clearly is struggling with the pain. Some guys are built to fight through it and some guys aren't. Unless of course they intend to inject him with a f*** ton of painkillers. It doesn't look like he's close.
  13. As I've been saying, know when to fold 'em with Bo. He's not close, and it's not like you don't have other options to formulate a good lineup. I'd be shocked if he's ready for the World Series if we get there. It's very possible he's played his last game as a Blue Jay.
  14. The problem with year long statistics is they don't necessarily reflect where a team is right now. In the Mariners case, they had injuries to their pitching staff and they obviously made some key additions at the deadline. They have some really good arms and they have a lot of power in their lineup. Game changing power. They also have a real closer. These are two very good teams and I think it will be important to take care of your home field in this series
  15. Absolutely, everyone is very excited about getting them while they're down but of course that can turn around on us real fast if we don't take care of business. They know their backs are back against the wall here early in the series. I don't expect them to lay down. It's never easy, at this point nothing is.
  16. Yeah but that's just jogging around the bases, what happens when he's way out in front of a pitch or when he has to make a quick cut and stop and start up again? Whatever, they're going to do what they're going to do but there are downsides to bringing him back, at this point I'm not sure it's worth it given that he's clearly not 100%.
  17. I think hobbling after taking a swing is probably not good. Nothing about his situation suggests that he's close. They're trying to force this.
  18. After seeing video of Bo take some swings today, I think we need to just give up on the idea. He looks awful. He's not Bo Bichette. Think of the downsides: Bo hasn't faced real pitching in a month, now you put him up against Seattle? A guy who is already a liability defensively and running the bases is now even more of a liability in that regard. He would likely force us to have to compromise more defense somewhere else. It probably results in a guy like Santander, a power threat switch hitter who looks like he's finally getting his timing back, getting fewer at bats. You got to know when to fold 'em.
