He's never had a great concept of the strike zone. How many times has he *****ed to the umpire in past years over pitches completely inside the zone? The only good thing this year is that he's figuring out how much of an idiot he is. Not that it seems to be stopping him from terrible challenges.

Whether Bieber gets traded or not, I think a lot will be answered about him over the course of the next 2 months. I don't think anybody knows what he is right now.

Soriano and especially Detmers might be too expensive given their controllability. I would want the Jays to go after Detmers personally. Mize is the prize now. But there's probably an okay secondary market for Gausman, more so than Bieber methinks.

Bieber should have been pitching today on regular rest. It would help dispel any real concerns about the last outing if he had a good one today.

You don't decide the direction of your team based on one game when there's still two months left. I think whatever they do, they should already have their minds made up.

Well it won't be our problem this year. If it helps guarantee a lockout and stop this madness I'm all for it. If they're in the World Series I don't plan on watching anyway. I got better things to do.

As bleak as it's seems, it's still hard for me to believe that this team does not have a hot streak in them. Just by virtue of the 162 game season at some point everybody has a hot streak, even s*** teams. Granted if we aggressively sell pieces, I can't see it happening. We literally have no rotation depth beyond the guys that are here. So I expect all hope to be evaporated by the trade deadline. But as is, it's still hard for me to completely give up on this team.

It's all relative to expectations. He set a high bar for himself in the postseason. He's certainly not having a bad season overall, but I think the occasional staggering control issues and strikeout rate are a bit below expectations.

Tuning in late. I see I've missed quite a bit. Nice of Bieber to give Yesavage something to shoot for with those 6 walks in 2/3rds of an inning. I think the kid's up to it though.
