  1. Didn't you just play the I told you so card? And we have different definitions of what "in it" means. Cheers.
  2. Oh there's a lot of things you can't grasp, but I'm not going to be vitriolic about it. I do hope you are managing to enjoy yourself and not dragging yourself down here.
  3. Right because you thought they were World Series contenders back then? Oh but you had hope, but you see that's the whole point, you always have hope for a team that hasn't won anything since 1993. But they turned it around, and now those of incessant hope are geniuses? I mean if you have hope every year, yeah you're going to hit the jackpot once in awhile. But it's been a great ride and I don't know why everyone is looking for a fight today when we should all be very happy. So be happy and stop being so miserable.
  4. Really because for somebody that you think is always depressed I'm a pretty happy guy. Having a blast in the last couple of days especially. It is telling that by simply having criticism of one's team that people believe this actually leads to depression. I hope you and everybody else here is having fun with this great ride we've been on.
  5. Yes and I still believe for the long term we would have been better off doing so including trading Guerrero. I guess we'll get those answers in the coming years. But I've also said that I would gladly trade one championship for 10 years of misery so if we get that championship I lay down my arms.
  6. Not everybody obviously, but some people are too dismissive other teams' accomplishments in this division.
  7. I knew it was the Bo stuff that got you mad 🤣 I have my feelings about the Bo situation, but I've already said I'm not going to mention him anymore because he's not on the roster so what's the point? Besides at this point it's just beating a dead horse. If he doesn't play we got to win without him, and if he does come back to play, great.
  8. Glad you brought that up. Really glad. Because it goes to my point that despite the successes of other teams in the AL East, people on here constantly refuse to give any credit to any team not named Toronto. So yes I try to act as a counterbalance to the obvious fanboyism that goes on here. You and others constantly act as if other teams in the American League East never deserve any credit and you call me a bird? Which by the way I don't even know how that's an insult, maybe for Newfoundlanders. Who the f*** calls people birds?
  9. When did I say they have no chance? I specifically said the Yankees are more talented but of course the Jays have a chance. In that same post I said the only unbeatable team I've ever seen in my life was KD's Warriors. I also said this year's Dodgers if healthy is pretty close but even they wouldn't be unbeatable. I think it's tough to be truly unbeatable in baseball Edit: FYI, I have also said the Jays were the second best team in the AL. So I haven't refused to acknowledge that they are good.
  10. Our rotation was in trouble and we needed help, imagine what our rotation would be without him right now. Also at the time I was under the impression that he had to be called up before September 1st, that's when I was really mad but then that was cleared up. But I though it was important to get a long look at him. But there's a big difference between wanting him called up because we were in desperate need of SOMEBODY, and proclaiming that he's a Cy Young winner in the making. You just look like you are looking for a fight for no good reason. Your response to my post is completely disproportionate.
  11. It's not a mortal sin to say that the Yankees are more talented team. I understand the Yankees hate and I share it, but people go too far with their Yankees hate to the point where they don't give them nearly enough credit. Red Sox too, we have certain people on here (I won't name names but if you know, you know) who can watch the Red Sox win 3 titles in a row and still think they are a s*** organization.
  12. Wow everyone's gone unhinged. How the f*** is it poor behavior to temper expectations? People have flipped their lid. Sometimes I think I'm on Reddit.
  13. Are you kidding me? Of course I wanted to call him up because he's our top prospect he's pitching great and we needed the help! I thought it was important that we take a look at him against major leaguers and figure out if he could help. I think that was a totally legitimate ask and I was annoyed that it took them so long to do it. But now you're going to criticize me for not announcing after four starts that he's going to win a Cy Young award? This is a real criticism now? That's totally unhinged to do something like that.
  14. People trying to map out this kid's career after four starts. Let's see what happens after the league gets a look at him. I'm sure he still has adjustments of his own to make. He destroyed New York, shoved pretty hard against Tampa, but Kansas City didn't seem too impressed by him and he did fall behind in the count often yesterday, something he probably needs to continue to work on. Let's enjoy the moment, let's hope this ride continues and let's just see what happens. Hopefully at least we can continue to use the element of surprise with him against two more teams this postseason🤞🏻
  15. Yeah but that's also a matter of money. Would they still be geniuses if they had the resources of even a middle of the road team? I'm just saying I respect the whole idea of winning culture more when it's not coming from the Dodgers or the Yankees or an obvious massive market with massive advantages and resources. I have a lot more respect for St Louis for instance for the years that they've been excellent.
  16. I'm sorry but I have to call horse s***. It's really easy when you have, by miles, the highest payroll and you are a preferred destination for several reasons that are beyond most anyone else's control. I'd love to see them have a "winning culture" if their team moved to Oklahoma or some s***. I'm infinitely more impressed by teams like Tampa Bay. There's little real talent in what the Dodgers do.
  17. He really did f***ing bomb the hell out of that pitch.
  18. Veteran response. Things can always change quickly. As great as these first two games feel, Yankees will be at home now, Jays are obviously not as good on the road. Yankees struggle against fastball/splitter combinations but that's not Bieber's strength. Be confident, stay aggressive but keep an even keel.
  19. Massive missed opportunity by the Tigers. With a one game lead and Skubal on the mound. They need to win his starts.
  20. I don't mind seeing emotion on big moments but the home run celebrations in the dugout that we see these days and the bravado for stupid things like drawing a walk, I have no time for any of that. I still like the idea of acting like you've done it before, I think it's a lot colder and more awesome honestly.
  21. I still think they are the more talented team, yes.
  22. Couldn't have imagined a better start to the game. Couldn't even dream it. Not a great ending, but whatever. I have no issue with the pull of Yesavage, didn't think he should've even started the sixth. Massive game for Bieber. This is why you are here.
