    There's nothing stupid about any of this. The team determined Swanson was ready. I'm sure they would have preferred to ease him in on a low leverage situation, but it didn't present itself. I think you need Francis on this team given the struggles of Gausman and the limited pitches for Yarel.

    Bingo. Swanson is a good pitcher and had the bottom of the order. JS did nothing wrong today. Swanson didn't deliver. It happens. Don't be tampons people.

    I mean - there's a chance that the play of Schneider or Barger pushes IKF to a super utility role by June/July. Things change throughout the year. Maybe IKF can give us a 100 wRC+ season with the bat. Maybe we make an in-season trade. I mean if all those things fail and IKF is an 85 wRC+ bat and gets 600+ PA's, that's probably not ideal. No idea why people would get too concerned with what may happen in August.

    So are the very good teams. The best of teams may only be favored to win 60% of the time. Most series are 55%/45%. That said, I do think they had enough talent to win it all in 2021, but the failures of Vlad, Kirk, Varsho, Manoah, Berrios (2022), even Springer has made it feel like they aren't good enough. Not sure how much of that blame I can put on Atkins. Some yes, but there's some horrible luck involved there. Blah - I'm done with this convo. Sorry.

    Astros are calling up Forrest Whitley. Kind of forgot about him. He didn't play in 2020 and 2021? He hasn't really been good since 2017/18. Interesting story nonetheless.

    We've been through this. That's because you believe the success of a GM should be judged based on how many playoff/series wins they get. That simply isn't a great way to judge someone when most series are nearly a coin flip.

    Andy Pages singles on the 1st pitch he sees at the ML level. Storybook stuff. This kid has hit at every level.

    He certainly looks to have all the tools of a very good utility player. What appears to be good/great defense, elite speed, get contact skills and some developing power.

    Great call Garcia got the save tonight. The save was earned in the 8th inning. It was Romano or Green tonight in the 9th and if you use Green, you're using him for the 3rd time in 4 days and he may not be as sharp and then obviously wouldn't be unavailable tomorrow. I think JS managed the bullpen perfectly tonight.

    Based on the 1 spring training game I attended in which Jackson Holliday played, I didn't think he looked ready. He was overswinging and pitchers were carving him up.
