  1. Vlad has lower back tightness. Not playing because he's injured.
  2. I would assume there's a chance that his thumb is still tender after catching a full game. I guess it's easy to just assume everyone in the organization is a moron though. No ideal though - we need the offense.
  3. I think it will be a miracle if he throws more than 25 innings at the ML level in his career. He's a bust.
  4. He's the new Paul Skenes! What an incredible talent.
  5. Why do people do this? Why blame 1 person? Why not blame the lineup for not scoring more - they missed several opportunities to tack on more runs.
  6. Juan Sanchez over his past 19 games - .346/.400/.577, 161 wRC+
  7. He got his 3,500 K - time to take him out back and then move on.
  8. How sad must Padres fans be? Tatis - 101 wRC+, 2 HRs Machado - 68 wRC+ Merrill - 74 wRC+ Bogaerts - 90 wRC+ and their top SPer is Walker Buehler 😬 How the f*ck is this team over .500?

  10. I was down to Labatt Stadium in London yesterday. Very cool old ball park. It's the oldest, active baseball stadium in the world. Pretty cool to watch my son pitch from the mound that Satchel Paige once did. They claim Ty Cobb played there back in the day too.
  11. Oh I didn't know that - thanks for pointing it out.
  12. I guess that could explain "some" of the velo drop. I'd have thought they'd build him up in bullpens and that he wouldn't face batters until he was pretty darn close to ready. But then again, we sent Berrios to the mound when he was throwing 90 MPH poo, so maybe there are other factors, or maybe they are stupid.
  13. Yimi García (elbow) allowed one run on one hit while walking two on Wednesday for Triple-A Buffalo. García threw just eight of his 21 pitches for strikes, but he did earn one strikeout. The 35-year-old is continuing to work his way back from elbow surgery and will likely need another couple of appearances at Triple-A before he is ready to return. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On the broadcast, they reported Garcia was throwing like 93 MPH. Yimi might be dead 🥹
  14. Good for him! Always liked his approach at the plate.
  15. Yeah - that's fair.
  16. Baseline is established as soon as a tag attempt is made. Once that line is established, you can go 3 feet in either direction. I don't think Clement veers more than 3 feet once Henderson weak tag attempt.
  17. Sanchez has been amazing since Laika said they should cut him. 121 wRC+ on the season now. Good add following the injury to Tony Taters.
  18. 2,500 hits for Freeman. One of the good guys in baseball. Happy for him.
  19. Nor is anyone else. Player's police the team. And almost all players jog out routine plays.
  20. He's one of the only above average hitters we have.
  21. 5'7" 21 year old OFer in AAA who's tearing it up (.338/.447/.500, 155 wRC+) Brewers are certainly taking a different approach with these extensions. Remember they extended Cooper Pratt and he's still in the minors too.

Cool little follow up to the Chad Dallas call up. I think I flagged this little nugget in the GDT. Love it.
  23. Of course I didn't - who TF has time to read that block of text? But I just did, because you called me out. I think it's confirming he's been incredibly unlucky, combined with a decline in our team defense. I was just making a joke about how we should stop blaming bad luck. We had a lengthy chat about how unlucky Hoffman has been a week ago (we don't done need a Fangraph's article - it's pretty obvious) and someone made a sarcastic comment about blaming it on bad luck...lol, lol, lol.
