  1. Just asking because Michael Taylor cleared waivers at one point but AA was still commited to Sierra at the time. I think I'd rather have Taylor over Mastroianni but whether either is actually good enough to fill a need is highly debattable. I wish AA would do something soon.
  2. s*** if he's comfortable with a butcher like Uggla, he should just trade for Murply allready. At least Murphy is a butcher who can still hit.
  3. Would you rather have Michael Taylor or Darrin Mastroianni?
  4. I guess this officially makes him worse than Moises Sierra and Kenny Wilson.
  5. Ashley Green and Camilla Belle and I have no idea who they are but I Googled Allsion Brie, Anna Kendrick and it came up right away.
  6. Nah... I'll pick 2 even if it definitely extends the losing streak.
  7. Aren't you supposed to do it with ugly girls to break streaks?
  8. You clearly don't undestand human nature. The replay will reveal whether the ump got the call right or wrong regardless. Only the most stuborn of idiots would then double down on their mistake. They would undoubtedly be more willing to fix their mistake because ultimately this gives them a chance to be right even if they were initially wrong. It's basically win-win. Either they get the call right or they get the review right. They literrally can't lose.
  9. Whether it's an ump or a non-ump in New York doesn't matter. He wasn't on the field, he didn't see the play. Why not let the ump that did see the play look at the review. I think an NFL style on-field review would be more effective. The ump knows exactly what he could or couldn't see during the play and can complete with the review. He's in the best position to determine whether the call should be upheld or not.
  10. They should have the umpires review their own plays like they do in football. The New York office is undrestandably sheepish about overturning umps but an ump has the benefit of knowing what they say and completing with what they didn't see on the screen. Only they have the full picture and if they see that they got something wrong, they will want to fix it.
  11. It's hardly unreasonable to think Gose makes that play. Gose has a great arm and the ball was not that deep.
  12. I really don't think Headley getting hot increases his trade value. He's still an injured player on an expiring contract. I think it does increase the probability that the Jays pull the trigger especially if this is happening in front of Jays scouts.
  13. f*** John Farrell. He wanted to waive Escobar and start (and therefore expose) Hech. If AA is dumb than John Farrell is dumber.
  14. Jee-zus. Roberto Osuna is an "other prospect" to f***in' Kevin Pillar? Kevin Pillar as centrepiece I love. Roberto Osuna as centrepiece I hate.
  15. Going to see him over the weekend in Portland. I'll yell things like "Get a hit" and "Atta boy". That will fix him up.
  16. + maybe it will prompt a Kratz callup if Gillespie is as bad as we expect him to be.
  17. What does it say about this team that the field manager appreciates the value Kratz can bring more than the General Manager seems to?
  18. Using s***** platoon players might be the best way to send a signal to the man in charge. If that's the idea, I kind of love this.
  19. Anyone know how soon MiLB pitching matchups are announced? I'm going to Portland, Maine from Friday to Monday and I'm going to catch at least one game but possibly more from the Portland Sea Dogs, New Hampshire Fishercats series. Henry Owens and Daniel Norris would obviously be the pitchers I'd most like to see. Wouldn't mind catching Brian Johnson either.
  20. Biggest MLB Surprise: Tanner Roark. I didn't know much about him but Spanky was facing a roster crunch so I traded a mid-round pick for him. Looks like he could be a solid rotation piece for years to come. Elias is another guy I didn't know much about and whose is looking similar to Roark. I traded Ed Rodriguez and possilby a secondary piece for him and that's looking great so far. Biggest MLB Letdown: Will Venable. This hursts because I had traded him away in the off-season but then I re-acquired him in the Ellsbury deal thinking he would have value. Big derp there. Second guessing kills. Biggest MiLB surprise: Mookie Betts. I loved Mookie and refused to trade him for Ortiz in the off-season. That being said I didn't necessarily expect him to break out in such a way that everybody would know how good he is. I got somewhat close to making a blockbuster acquisition with him that would have wiped the floor with Ortiz. Biggest MiLB bust: Wilmer Flores. Yuck. Mets were supposed to give him an opportunity but instead they've been dicking him around and he's doing terribly. Activating him has not worked our for me at all. Jose Ramirez is in a similar boat but at least he's still on my farm which gives me the luxury of patience.
  21. I'm interested. I think I have a few pitchers that fit the description.
  22. And that's before you factor whatever time EE is going to lose. AA should pull the trigger sooner rather than later. All the good postions players are hurt, all the healthy position players are lousy.
