  1. Yeah you can't really read much into results at that level from a college draftee. I mean better to hit than to not and you certainly get a little nervous if they don't hit but you can't really read much into the positive results unless they are really dramatic.
  2. I could be wrong but I think he still has to be assigned to "somewhere" even if he's on the minor league DL.
  3. Paulino (suspension), Giles (demotion), Perez (only starting to find his control) all look like buy lows on paper. That's what makes this a fairly even trade. It's depressed asset for deppressed assetts but by going this route, the Jays didn't take a bath talent wise and seen to even have come out ahead.
  4. If the data they have suggests a significant breakout from Drury then he becomes an asset that they can flip for more than whatever alternative second piece the Yankees would have offered. Let's not get too caught up on timelines and roster construction. This might simply be a case where they feel they can increase their profit by going this route.
  5. Congrats to Abom. Left you a bit of a roster mess but I didn't know Snell and Wong were going to hit the DL. Would have cleaned that up if I had known sooner. Everyone thinks highly of you as an owner so I'll figure you'll have no problems shaping things up and maybe cutting bait with some pieces I was probably too attached to. Best of luck!
  6. O.K. So I definitely want out and I think it would be better for the new owner to have a shot at the trade deadline. I'll manage the roster until then but some important decisions need to be made and they should be made by someone else. My preference would be for Wok to get a shot at the team. I realize that I'm quitting and shouldn't really have a say in this but conversely, he's a popular poster and fantasy player so it seems like it would work for the board too. I have no idea what his level of interest is. Otherwise, I know that we had a vote when P2F came in and there were some excellent candidates on the ballot. I really don't think this should be hard to deal with. I really wanted to leave a good team behind and tried to make myself competitive over the last few years but in trying to do so I may have made some bad decisions that someone who is more invested long term might not and that cycle of trying too hard to make something out of nothing and falling short will probably continue as long as I'm the owner. There's a lot of parity in this league and it's really hard to burst out from the mid-tier and trying to force the issue just hasn't worked and will probably will never happen until you get an owner who cares more about baseball than I do and is less mistake prone than I am. I've been wanting to leave for years and the fact is there's never going to be a perfect time but this is at the very least, a decent time. The team isn't scorched earth. At least I'm leaving behind some stuff to work with. I just don't think I can do any better than I have so far and if I stay, it's very likely i'll just make it worse so let's just get this over with now if we can.
  7. O.K I just really enjoyed the all star break and was tempted to make the break permanent but you're right that I'm probably overreacting to a busy period in my work and life. I'm sitting in a camp chair drinking beer and using mobile data right now and it doesn't seem so pressing a concern anymore.
  8. I'm going camping too so I'll be offline this weekend.I should have thought of this sooner. Sorry for the lack of heads up.
  9. Hey would you guys mind giving my team to Wok or something? I don't have the time or interest.

  11. I honestly had no idea. Just picked him based on production and age. Rockieness is a nice bonus.
  12. Not sure why Fangraphs is so down on him. BP had him top 100 in the off season and the numbers are good. I feel like Fangraphs not ranking him created a buy low opportunity for me here.
  13. I feel similarly about Mauricio. IFAs can be a pain to own in this league but he's hard to pass up when he goes so much later than Franco.
  14. Yeah he wasn't a guy I was targetting but he's arguably the last of the big name draft prospects and I feel like he could have gone sooner and was surprised he hadn't. Low percentage high upside is fine past the first round of most drafts and would have been defensible even in a deep one like this.
  15. Bryce Turang and Ronny Mauricio for me.
  16. Can I send you a list? Not sure what my availability is going to be like this weekend. I still have five picks to make.
  17. Alright, well since you guys aren't leaving me a ton of choices... I'll take Ryan McKenna and Cal Mitchell.
  18. Wow. Suprised no one drafted him last year.
