  1. I guess you were joking when you said you were black though I don't really get why that's joke. Maybe an inside joke for those who know just how white you are?

You win the Deadpool award for tasteless humour. 10/10
  4. VDub4MVP has been female her entire life.
  5. You're thinking of Greenwood.
  6. Did anyone ever tell you that you have a really douchey way of approaching discussions? You could have approached this topic in any number of sensible ways but already you make it sould like you're looking for a fight.
  7. I guess it depends what you call a great year. Maddux was coming off a 199 IP 2.62 ERA season when he accepted. Not great by his standards but it certainly would be by Marco Estrada standards.
  8. Would you be willing to make the offer and take the risk that he accepts?
  9. SP innings don't come cheap, even mediocre ones. I think the more important question isn't really what's his floor is ERA wise but rather what his floor is in terms of IP. Him and J.A. Happ have a lot in common. Both have been swingmen who give up a lot of flyballs. Both are coming off career highs in IPs. I'd probably be all in favour of whichever is the cheapest.
  10. So he's too good for the deal but not good enough to be signed for less? You're assuming some pretty wild fluctuations between how he should be valued and how he will be valued.
  11. I don't really see a scenario where a draft pick will be forfeited. I you offer comp he'll take it. There's no way the Jays are getting that pick. You either sign him for the comp amount, try to negotiate something better or cut bait.
  12. Damn, pulled out that hard working Greeks stereotype again.
  13. I don't think AA is necessarily a guy with hard set philosophies anyways. By most acounts he is hard working guy who is a total sponge for ideas. We've certainly seen him change quite a bit. He started with a real game the system, find devalued assetts kind of approach and then he went old school with starting pitching and speed being a focus and then finally an emphasis on veteran leadership and a more hollistic approach to run prevention. He will be open to Shapiro's ideas and continue to evolve. I think getting him away from Beeston and closer to someone with modern ideas will be to his benefit. If he can focus on his soft skills and have to carry less of the intelectual weight that will put the Jays in a great position.
  14. What's the sport where you swing your dick at ******** called again?
  15. Hard to find someone to catch the knuckler. I mean potentially any good catcher should be able to do it but there aren't enough opportunities to practice it. You either go with someone who has already done it or you just get someone who is very quiet behind the plate and groom him into it. They explored the later option with Kratz and word is he wasn't that far off but he hadn't quite caught up to Thole. Matrin didn't catch up to Thole either but he was going to get more rope on account of his overall importance to the team. I don't think you can find a guy who can both hit somewhat and catch the knuckler effectively while also commanding only a backup salary.
  16. Only if his defense is elite. Guy can't hit a lick. 538 OPS as a 25 year old minor leaguer. It's probably time to cut bait actually.
  17. I was once advised not to do what I wanted and to think about my career instead. Following that advice was one of my biggest regrets in life.
  18. Yeah I think this is pretty awesome actually. I bet coaching 1B is a million times more fun than working in the front office.
  19. Saunders was effectively replaced by Revere. Only one of the two is needed. IF (huge if) Saunders is healthy, that creates a tradable surplus though neither would be likely to return much at this point.
  20. O.K. Tidied up the thread a bit. Didn't ban anyone but I removed a call for violence against the KC guy (in jest probably but that doesn't matter) and several related posts and general vitriol. The kid is just some dumb ass kid. Most kids, probably most people would have done the same. I don't want this board associated with a vendetta against him. That's dumb. The umps are the review officials are the ones to blame for that screw up
  21. I'd need some evidence before I start believing that but I do I think there's unconscious bias affection the results, absolutely. The ump's strikezone changed completely at the end of the game. He wanted the Royals to get the calls and it clouded his judgement. If he looks at the replay, he'll probably be suprised by how badly he missed.
