  1. I suppose as a former politician, your French is pretty good?
  2. There was talk that this thread shoudn't be started now and I undestand why. It's definitely premature. There will be plenty to time for this kind of talk after the World Series but that being said, it's not an uninteresting discussion and a little 2016 talk doesn't 2015 is over. Maybe I'll just change the title to something more positive.
  3. Anyone know if the games are being broadcast in French in the first place? I'm seriously tempted to switch if that's an option. I don't love Rodger Brulotte but I'll take a Hawk Harrelson style flagrant homer (basically what he is) over the stream of diahrea coming from Harold Reynolds.
  4. Let's see what the 2 day layoff does for Martin's game. Keep him in. Dude's a stud.
  5. Oh yeah... Forgot that they were teammates. He probably has more experience with Price than Martin does.
  6. Bell was violent though. Bautista's thing is more utter scorn. I don't recall Jose ever rushing the mound or throwing anything or anything that could remotely be construed as violent. As much as he rubs people the wrong way, his list of actual infractions on or off the field is practically non existent. That makes him a pretty unique case. People just hate him for his personality. There's very little of substance to critique beyond that. Bell on the other hand, was a karate chopping, bat breaking, mound rushing hot head. Like a meaner version of Brett Lawrie or Sean Rodriguez.
  7. Has he even caught Price?
  8. I guess in the end the real question is are you comfortable with Estrada for one year at the q.o. amount? If you're only offering it in the hope that he turns it down than you probably shouldn't take the risk.
  9. The catch with the Q.O. is that once you give it, the market for the player changes. Whatever the market for him was, it goes down when there's compensation attached so it's not just about what he'd be worth on the open market, you have to regress that a bit when factoring the compensation and then decide whether or not to Q.O. That's assuming of course that you don't actually want the player at the q.o. figure. If you're fine with him accepting then the discussion is moot because it's win-win.
  10. One thing I'd like to point out about Estrada is that he really deserves a lot of credit for the run he's on right now. He had some starts in the regular season where he danced around a lot of walks and big fly balls but the run he has been on since his last start in Tampa has been pretty legit. I'm not saying that to advocate a big salary for him. I think it's fair to look at the cold hard numbers and what he did through the entire season and recent career when making financial decisions but I just want to point that he is legitimately pitching his best ball of the season right now. I wouldn't want anyone to feel like anyone here is trying to diminish that.
  11. Considering that he's going to be around for 5 not at all cheap years, it certainly is pretty nice. I mean don't get me wrong, I'd be happy with him for the defensive upgrade alone but having the real Tulof***ingwitzki is immensely better.
  12. No not really. He might have faced Hosmer in a tough spot because it was his throwing day. Why such a big deal was made out of it is really beyond me. The best part of Estrada pitching a kick-ass game was that Estrada pitched a kick-ass game.
  13. Sanchez has had a very nice postseason but he's not Osuna level good. This is the right call.
  14. I guess with a decent lead they decided to just give him the full day off. Not a bad idea IMO. He looks like he could use the rest.
  15. Can we stop with the imaginary Gibbons complaints? He does enough things wrong IRL. No need to make things up.
  16. He's also pretty underrated in the looks department IMO.
  17. Price's side session is over. He's not coming in. It's over. Let it go people.
  18. Can the people who post nothing but troll posts please stop? It's tedious. This has been a great game. It's ridiculous to be such debbie downers.
