  1. Yeah I don't think Brunt has really researched this. Interesting piece of out of the box thinking but not realistic in the slightest. Also, it would be nice to not torpedo every area of depth for once. Maybe just maybe we can fill holes with signings this time around.
  2. Getting your jockies in a knot over who starts the GDT is a bannable offense. I have not consulted my fellow mods or admin. I'm just going to go rogue on this and enact and enforce this policy starting immediately. Act accordingly.
  3. To be fair, the velocity WAS surprising.
  4. Didn't know that. I thought it was a locker room thing where he wiped actual s*** from his ass using a Jays towel. This changes my perception of the incident considerably.
  5. My biggest hope is that the team at least pushes it to game 7. That would mean a win in a Price start and a lot of restored pride for the team overall.
  6. Sure he's honest but that's one hell of a glass house he's throwing stones from. You want do to *******-y things like wipe your ass with the other team's towel than at least have the decency to shut the f*** up about what other players do and not give lectures. I have mostly been a fan of Holland though his career but he's coming off like baseball's biggest hypocrite right now.
  7. And as fans, I think it's always a little easier when you also look at it one game at a time. This is the second crack at Volquez, you have to figure it will go better for the Jays bats.
  8. Shouldn't there be a bereavment list in the playoffs? That would simplify things. Of course we don't actually know what the f*** is going on so maybe a more comprehensive Personal List would be better.
  9. I'm just shy of 40 and in the best shape of my life. Was the fittest in my excursion group in Peru and it felt amazing. So I guess I'm saying that anything is better than just giving up and sarting to think and act like an old person. I may not seem that way but there will be plenty of time for being old later in life at which point you won't have a choice anymore anyways. Be as young as you can while you still can.
  10. This is so true. No matter how unhappy the game is making you right now, you will absolutely miss it in the winter. That's a good thing to keep in mind today.
  11. Starters need to go deep or offense needs to put up a crooked number. If ever there was a time for Gibby to let go of his obsession with the 100 pitch limit this would be it but everything I've seen from Gibbons indicates that he is determined to manage the game exactly the same way he did in the regular season even if everything around him goes up in flames. Not only does he stick to the 100 pitch limit but he also divides his pen into the guys who pitch with the lead and the guys who pitch when we're trailing which is how Ryan Tepera and Latroy Hawkins end up going into the game before Mark Lowe in a game that's still close.
  12. The situation with Loup was really compounded by the fact that the team absolutely punted Cecil's spot by going with Tepera. What's the point of a short man who isn't any good? Better a mop-up guy than that.
  13. I think Francis might have made the team over Hutch but you're point still stands either way.
  14. Well AA could have held on to both Matt Boyd and Daniel Norris (both LHPs and both capable of going multiple innings, the two things the Jays need the most) but then you wouldn't have Price. It was a dammned if you, dammned if you don't kind of scenario. You always want to strengthen the front line first so it was the right decision but it did have a depth decimation downside which has been really exacerbated by the implosions of Hutch, Buehrle and Hawkins.
  15. It a combination of Loup not being available and Tepera failing miserably in his attempt to eat innings.
  16. This Kansas City team is really annoying when the babip gods are smilling on them. They are basically a team full of Ben Revere put the ball in play types. As we're seeing with actual Ben Revere, that's hardly a guarantee of success but it's woking really well for them in a small sample. The Jays had 20 points of OBP on KC in the regular season and now in the playoffs, the Royals have 40 points of OBP on the Jays. Just the worst kind of small sample size bad luck but the Harold Reynolds types keeping talking as if Alcides Escobar really was a 1000 OPS hitter. Poetic justice would be for instant dramatic regression. The Kansas City Royals will likely start hitting into outs before the post-season is over but it might not come soon enough for the Jays.
  17. Estrada/Price/Stroman should mean they're in every game. If they solve Volquez tonight, I'm going to feel pretty optimistic about the rest of the series.
  18. Keep in mind that his chart is for 2017/2018.
  19. If the org had no faith, I believe he would have been moved in one of the deadline deals.
  20. Yep was out this year too.
  21. Cause he fields like s***. His only ability is his arm.
