  1. Breaking balls don't break near as much at coors. 2.32 inches on curve balls. The adjustments to the ball on the road is a unique challenge for Rockies hitters. Travelling from altitude is also harder on the body. Rockies players really do have it harder on the road.
  2. Yeah, but I would argue Springer and Realmuto signed for desperate teams..lol. White sox might fit in there too. Hendriks at 4 and 54 isn't outrageous for the best closer in the market. I mean Davis got 3 and 52 not that long ago. 4 and 54 with a parachute clause to defer payments for Hendriks seems entirely reasonable given his talents.
  3. I was thinking 2 years....would go 30 31 AAV if competition dictated it. It feels like it's the Dodgers and Mets and everyone's looking for a discount. I'd be curious where the offers are at.
  4. It would great to swoop in on Bauer. No one seems willing to pay for him. The Mets seem most likely but Cohen just lost a couple billion dollars and has to raise as much cash as possible to fight off a bunch of kids on Reddit so maybe we could swoop in and snag Bauer.
  5. Rendon probably got overpaid and we just went through a pandemic. Rendon is a better hitter and better on the base paths. I'd take Rendon for equivalent dollars. I think Bauer is going to have to take a short term deal, because he won't get the AAV he's looking for on a long term deal. I really struggle to see his market. I'm not sure where he goes.
  6. Walker absolutely wants to sign here. He said in an interview how advanced our pitching analytics were and he thought he could really benefit and get better if he had more time to work with the Jays. I'm still hoping for Paxton though.
  7. What are you talking about? He's clearly lost some weight and is putting in the work to get better. You can't watch these highlights and tell me he hasn't lost weight.
  8. Kirk putting in the work. We could have 2 players drop more than 40lbs this off season!
  9. I mean, I'm hopeful they view Matz as a pen guy and they wanted another lefty which would make sense. If they have him slotted in as a rotation guy, I'm baffled.
  10. I don't mind Walker. We really need Ray to be good this year. I think Ray can bounce back. Fingers crossed.
  11. If we don't add another starter and Ryu gets hurt for any length of time our rotation is hot garbage.
  12. We saw something in Roark, Garcia and Anderson. We have trouble identifying pitching..lol. Sure we got Ryu, but everyone knew he was good, he just came with injury risk. I would have rather signed Paxton than getting cute with Matz and Chatwood.
  13. He's too expensive...waste of resources. I didn't get the chatwood signing. I get this one even less.
  14. garbage move....5.2 mil for Matz. We could have had Archer for less than that.
  15. I feel like we should go sign Chris Archer. MLB trade rumors had him at 1 and 4. He'd be a decent gamble at that price.
  16. I've been banging the Rosenthal drum for quite a while. I like the idea of Paxton and Rosenthal. Those would be great moves to finish the roster off.
  17. Yeah, bring on Paxton. Aggressive move for Springer, Yates and now Semien. It's great to see the excitement. So much for the fans who said Shatkins wouldn't get anything done.
  18. I like Semien, but this team's biggest need going into the offseason was pitching! We now have Grichuk and his 10 mil salary on the bench. We need to ideally move grichuk and sign a starter or two.
  19. Covid didn't effect that deal! The phillies didn't win with Realmuto the last couple years. Now he's on the books for a higher salary. They are in the same division with the mets and the braves. How long before they trade Realmuto and eat salary to do so?
  20. Players get tired of waiting. MLB trade rumors top 50 also had 15 honourable mentions. 37 of those 65 players are still free agents. Behind that there's at least 50+ guys like Travis Shaw and the likes looking for jobs. Spring training is less than 21 days away for the earliest report date.
  21. Yes, but it's hard to see a 93 win team like Cleveland miss the playoffs being in 6th place or the Mariners missing by one game after winning 89 games. Once in a blue moon that 6th team might be a sub .500 team, but the races those year will involve multiple teams and be very entertaining. While 8 might be a couple too many, I feel like 5 is one too few. For the most part that 6th place team out of 15 teams is going to several games above .500.
  22. couldn't disagree more. Love expanded playoffs. There are have an have not teams. Fewer teams just benefits the have teams.
  23. There's more than 100 national league pitchers that want a universal DH. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/12769662/max-scherzer-injured-batting-advocates-designated-hitter-rule-national-league
  24. The players reject the expanded playoffs that will make players to make more money because owners will make even more money than them with expanded playoffs. It's ridiculous. The owners will use that money in free agency to spend more. With more playoff teams, more teams will be willing to spend bigger dollars in the off season. The players union is the greediest union in all of sports. They're ridiculous.
  25. Well I am an old white guy. You might be on to something..lol
