  1. I feel the same way. Bauer to the Mets. That could be fun. So Stro, we're going to bump you from your start. Bauer's pitching in your spot. His body is feeling good and he wants to go on 3 days rest. I mean, what could go wrong there?
  2. ok...that makes more sense.
  3. how does this make sense for the Angels?
  4. Met's fans head's would explode if we stole Bauer and Springer from them. Not likely to happen, but one can dream.
  5. I see where you're headed with this. You think Alpha Atkins might be hunting big game again.
  6. That seems awfully polite....the last few days..lol.
  7. Hazel Nightengale jumped the gun. Come on Dodgers, jump in and steal him away now..lol.
  8. That's nothing compared to the Cole risk the Yankees are taking on. I get it Cole is better, but if he blew out his shoulder next year he still has almost 300 mil on his deal left. Any deal for a pitcher is scary. Some work out though.
  9. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess it's the latter. When a doctor says you need Tommy John it's going to spook teams. Now another doctor said he could go the rest and rehab option. He'll have to throw for teams and even if it goes well teams will think that the arm could go at any pitch so he'll have to take a low base heavy incentive deal. I would not be adverse to exploring Osuna on such a a deal though. A million base with 5 or 6 in incentives based on appearances seems reasonable.
  10. Doolittle was a nice pick up for the Reds. I wouldn't mind him at that price, but he throws his fastball 80%+ and velocity dropped. Yates is a fastball split guy. Yates had bone chips cleaned up. Doolittle had knee and oblique issues. Understanding how pitchers recover from bone chips vs knee and obliques is above my pay grade, but I'm happy overpaying for yates on a one year.
  11. I'm guessing you have some thoughts! Do tell.
  12. nothing wrong with minor league deals. Danny Salazar has crossed my mind, but I'm not entirely sure his arm is still attached to his body.
  13. So does Bauer sign before or after spring training report dates? I'm guessing after!
  14. that's not true. It's an incredibly rare issue for pitchers, so there isn't even a big sample size. A study done on 14 indicated players who came back were basically just as good after the procedure as they were before. If one can assume that Archer's problems were in part due to pain he was dealing with and he got it taken care of and is healthy, he could be an extremely good pick up. https://rockymountainbrainandspineinstitute.com/thoracic-outlet-syndrome-lesser-known-but-nearly-as-devastating-to-pitchers-as-tommy-john/#:~:text=Pitchers%20may%20have%20a%20higher,MLB%20pitchers%20undergoing%20TOS%20surgery.
  15. I was hoping we'd get Archer. Now that he went back to the Rays I'm even more convinced..lol.
  16. A common sense approach. Let's get a deal done a year in advance to help address issues that will add additional revenues to the industry which benefits both sides for 2021 and beyond. Instead, lets not address depressed revenues in 2021 and see owners lose money for a 2nd straight year. I wonder if that causes a bigger fight for 2022. The 2 trains are headed towards each other and the outcome is inevitable. Pride and greed is destroying both sides.
  17. See, everyone has their own opinion. Trotting out a runner to 2nd base seems ridiculous to you. I just see it as something that both teams are playing by the same rules, it adds some strategy and shortens the games saving pitchers arms. Although, I wouldn't want it for the playoffs I absolutely love it for the regular season. As it stands, we have no DH in the national league, no expanded playoffs and extra innings will be revert back to no runner at 2nd. The people afraid of change will be very happy!
  18. Greinke, Verlander and Lynn will be 1 year guys and a lot cheaper, but potentially still very good. I'm not completely sold on Bundy, but he's a guy to watch. Maybe he turned a corner. If he has another good season he will be very he's going to have some intrigue. McCullers and Syndergaard obviously have appeal. There are quite a few optioins....I'm worried about extensions and how many might actually hit the market though.
  19. so take whatever discount is there for those splits and know that once he gets away from the Rockies, his bat will be better on the road.
  20. The Angels have gone into the luxury tax once in their history by a few hundred thousand. They have 6 mil left in cap space. Bauer to Jays makes a lot more sense than Bauer to the Angels. I absolutely don't want the Angels to sign Bauer!
  21. Larry Walker left Coors and as a broken down 37 and 38 year who had had 8 major surgeries in his career he put up an OPS north of 900 in his final 144 games in St Louis. He did this playing with a bad neck in the 2nd season where he basically could only move his head one direction. Walker also had 200 point better home OPS playing in St. Louis vs the road because travel is hard as f*** on players playing hurt. Larry was the man though!
  22. This is one trade. Cohen's net worth is largely driven by the assets managed by his hedge fund, which are down 10% to 15% this month. It's not wrong to say his net worth has declined more than a billion. It can come back just as quick, but it's down. When rich people lose money they could pull assets causing further downward valuation on the hedge fund.
  23. So Didi goes back to the phillies with deferred payments. Did they add to their bulpen yet?
  24. There is a possibility those Reddit nerds just pissed Cohen off and he could take his frustration out by paying Bauer an outrageous sum of money on a short term deal.
