  1. Is there anyone out there that still thinks Kirk belongs in AAA to start the season..lol.
  2. We're finally getting vaccine doses in Canada. Apparently we're getting more doses in Sask this month than we got in the first 3 month and will be combined and will be able to do 10K doses a day in April. I assume every province gets equal dose allotments. Almost 30% of our population will get dose one in Sask in the month of April alone. We might actually be able get to where Texas is by August.
  3. I thought Rays's first 2 outings were pretty encouraging. First one he was dynamite. 25 strikes in 27 pitches. The second he struggled with his first couple batters giving up walks, and hung a slider to the third but he made the adjustment and got the next 7 batters in a row included 6 strike outs. He just needs to trust his stuff and keep working on throwing strikes. If his walk rate stays under 4 this year we'll be more than pleased with his year.
  4. Tanner Roark begs to differ with you..lol.
  5. I'd rather he found location than velocity. He just needs to command his pitches.
  6. Nice to see the big Diesel get off to a solid start. We're going to need some good innings from him this year.
  7. Why isn’t grichuk getting any at bats. Is he hurt
  8. I'm hoping it's rest for 2 weeks and resume baseball activities and by the time he ramps up maybe he only misses one start. The worst thing you could do is push it and re-aggravate it and we lose him till June. Regardless, we could use Odorizzi!
  9. so how bad is Pearson's groin injury?
  10. Yes, they could hold him out. If he didn't have any service time you're looking at a few weeks, which would be no big deal. However, because he played last year you're looking at mid June to the end of June before you gain another year. In a year without expanded playoffs having Kirk kill it in AAA for almost 3 months while McGuire languishes with the big club isn't ideal. It isn't fair to the rest of the team, the fans or the player who you're manipulating service time on.
  11. I just don't see any scenario in which Kirk doesn't start April 1 with the Jays.
  12. Wasn't he hitting 97 on the gun this year!
  13. He's a 3 year college player just like Bregman. He should have been the 2nd overall pick just like Bregman, but the Orioles are dummies. Bregman played 66 games in his rookie year in the minors and then the next year he killed it at AA and AAA and was up brought up and played 49 games at the MLB level. Martin had to play his 60 games at the alternate site so he got less reps but played at a higher level of competition. If he kills it at AA and AAA it's not unrealistic that he could hit the majors this year. He's the same age as Vlad.
  14. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Hopefully Matz can be this year's Dylan Bundy. I'm not banking on it just yet though..lol.
  15. He was a starter in 2019. I don't see why he can't be a starter until he fails. Start him in AAA and see how he does. If he does well, bring him up as a starter when the injuries inevitably happen.
  16. We could just give him a chance to be a multi inning opener....like 5 or 6 innings every 5th or 6th game!
  17. I don't know enough about pitching to understand how he can throw 90, 91 and have such a high spin rate. Does he have the best stickem compound in the game? Also good news. Travis Bergen is back with the club!
  18. He did look faster there didn't he.
  19. Davis saying don't forget about me!
  20. I hope you're wrong on Ryu.
  21. Rowdy bold prediction...OPS north of ..900 this year!
  22. Sirius plays the home feed. I'm assuming since the Jays are being silly and not producing a radio broadcast that Jays games on Sirius will always be the other team's broadcast. I've listened to a most AL teams at some point over the years. It makes me appreciate ours more although I did quite enjoy Cleveland's calls. The Yankees broadcasts drive me crazy though.
  23. Dagnabbit those cheap buggers!
  24. As an old guy on the forum, how do you not have respect for someone who takes 13 years off from the sport and then at age 50 comes back for one tournament and makes the cut at the age of 50. Annika Sorenstam is ridiculous.
  25. I listen to games on Sirius from time to time when I'm running errands or stuck on the highway and it's nice to have the games. My biggest concern is Buck and Dan adjust they way they do their TV broadcasts because they are conscious of the fact that they are being heard on radio too.
