If you look at stat cast's outfielder jump Teoscar Lourdes and Grichuk were bunched in at 68.69,70 out of 105 last year. The year before Teoscar was 60 and Grichuk was 62. They are virtually the same. Teoscar has the stronger arm. Teoscar just makes dumb errors, letting a bouncing ball go under his glove. He's gotten better the last couple years and it's really about concentration. The difference between Grichuk and Teoscar really isn't that big.
Grichuk and Tellez will split some time at DH, but everyone benefits with rest. Grichuk will get his at bats even if we have a remarkably healthy season from our position players.
