  1. That's just a tad too expensive for 3 years of control....lol
  2. The question remains. If they sign Brantley how long will it take to announce a deal for pitching? An hour or two tops? I would love it to be grichuk, but it’s probably two or gurrieil.
  3. Hendricks would be great. He has 4 years of control at reasonable cost. I just don't see the Cubs moving him. I keep circling back to Price in my mind. Gonsolin is the Dodgers 6th starter. They have roughly 5 mil in tax space. Now the Dodgers can easily blow past the tax level, but they've been under the last 3 years. It almost seems like a point of pride for management to stay under and have a super team. Clearing out 16 mil would give them 21 mil to get a Semien orTurner. Next year they have Kershaw and Seager to deal with, Bellinger the next and Walker Buehler and Urias the year after. The Dodgers may have no desire to move Price. I'd make the call though.
  4. I would love to move Grichuk. He's really not a bad player. The market for that type of player has dropped. He's worth more than Grossman. Maybe a team like the Royals who are making some moves to improve might take him on if we ate 3 or 3.5 mil a year. 3 and 20.5 doesn't seem outrageous for Grichuk. All we would back would be some soda for the vending machine.
  5. on 125 it's a little over 1.5 mil the difference between NYC and Toronto. If we play half our games in Florida though he'll save 800K just on this year's 25 mil vs the tax he would play in NYC.
  6. Is this real life. This deal has a chance to pass Vernon Wells deal for a franchise record!
  7. So our payroll is 70 plus 8 for Yates and Chatwood brings us to 78. Springer adds 25. That brings us to 103. You can't really stop if you get Springer. 30 for Bauer and 12 for Paxton. 145 plus 7 for league mins and your at 152. Giddy up lets roll!
  8. WE don't need Wong. We need pitching. Replace Wong with Paxton, or dare I say Bauer...man now I am getting gready.
  9. Yeah I hope he makes 10! He will have been one of the best relievers in baseball if he earns 10.
  10. Stop it...I won't be able to take this if it doesn't come through now....Can Ken Rosenthal please report this!
  11. You beat me to it. Love this signing!
  12. Could this be the first signing of the year of a guy I actually wanted! Get it done!
  13. It was really the only outcome possible.
  14. Chatwood's K percentage jumped to 29.1% from his career average of 16.8%. His BB% ticked down to 10.5% compared to career average of 11.9% That is moving in the right direction. My problem is we probably could have had McGee for that price who bounced back last year. His velocity ticked up and his K% was 41.8% with a 3.8%. Another lefty would have been nice in the pen. They are obviously valuing multiple innings, but don't we have enough guys who can throw multiple innings?
  15. Especially if some of the players aren't on board with him staying. https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/mets/ny-jared-porter-mets-firing-20210119-ketzqscamrc2hj2bicnuczx5sy-story.html
  16. The Mets GM just got busted for sending dick picks to a reporter. The time is now. Go sign Springer!
  17. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/30737248/ny-mets-gm-jared-porter-acknowledges-sending-explicit-images-female-reporter-worked-chicago-cubs Jared Porter in some trouble.
  18. actually, I'm having a real hard time imagining him as a useful starting pitcher. If he finds it in the bullpen, fine. I don't want to see him starting.
  19. well i did say I would be happy if they just signed anyone. They tested my resolve. Trevor Rosenthal..nope...Tyler chatwood!
  20. I'd rather have Paxton..lol. I just want anyone at this point really.
  21. Well maybe on the Padres rotation. Right now we need that plus an ace!
  22. People aren't laughing at Preller now!
  23. Darvish was the deal that seemed light to me out of the three. I wish the Jays would have been in on Darvish.
