  1. It would be interesting if Bautista shifted to 3B. If guys can stay healthy then in a few weeks Lawrie/Rasmus/Navarro could be the bottom 3rd of the order.
  2. Who cares? They're giving him a look in the bullpen. Maybe he'll be more effective and deserve a call up. Criticizing this move is just for bitter fans looking for something to get mad about.
  3. Being at the game, I can give you that. I meant on TV, with the new challenge system the games take way too long IMO. Too many commercials as well.
  4. On another note, I find it odd that anyone doesn't want the games to be shortened. You get just as much action. Maybe longer games=more time at the bar away from your wife?
  5. Looking at the standings, they weren't even close to the Cubs in 1984 but in 83 they hung in the race it looks like.
  6. What second baseman signed for or is making 6 million?
  7. I thought Aoki had more games under his belt at CF for some reason, but with Gomez that was a stupid assumption. Wasn't suggesting they should get Aoki to play CF and overpay for Cruz though, just saying I'd prefer the Jays keep both Rasmus/Melky over those signings.
  8. It's left field. There's a long list of guys who were terrible defensively out there but stuck because of their bat, so who cares if his D isn't the best.
  9. Has anyone seen the free agent list next year? Who the heck are the Jays going to replace Melky and Rasmus with? Aoki and overpay for Cruz? If they make a deadline trade, they won't have enough to acquire a guy in a trade. I for one do not want to see Pillar trotting out there everyday. Also look forward to seeing Izturis being the everyday 2nd baseman again.
  10. Are they Jays going to get Soriano? With Reimold and Lind hurt, he might be worth a shot to be honest.
  11. Boring pick, everyone is picking him. +250 is terrible value IMO. Well, they're all terrible value (except Jones IMO).
  12. The easiest way to make you near certain to contend every year is to spend a ridiculous amount of money (if you have it). For me it would be more fun to see the Jays spend like the Dodgers and try to get the big free agents at all costs. Imagine if they had signed Cano and Tanaka this offseason? Even with Tanaka hurt that would've been awesome IMO. But to each his own you like seeing prospects and I like popular big name players.
  13. This should be a drinking game
  14. It becomes watch-able when you gamble on it.
  15. Window being 5 or 6 years of mediocrity? Because we've had that for 20 years. In all seriousness, I'd prefer the Jays to gut the farm and have a 250 million dollar payroll each year and try to buy championships. That's more fun than hoping some prospects pan out, but it won't happen.
  16. Giancarlo Stanton +250 Jose Bautista +500 Yasiel Puig +500 Yoenis Cespedes +500 Troy Tulowitzki +700 Josh Donaldson +900 Justin Morneau +1200 Todd Frazier +1200 Adam Jones +1400 Brian Dozier +1400 I picked Jones at those odds, I think he'll surprise.
  17. He's not great but he's a lot better than Devlin, hopefully he's back after the break.
  18. I'm surprised some idiots are putting the Jays above an elite pitching talent in Tanaka. Grow up.
  19. Hey so you're boxcar like people thought originally.
  20. We knew their depth was terrible. You should be able to weather some injuries with decent players but AA failed to do so. A healthy Jays team is a playoff contender and an injured team is not even close... I think the blame has to be on AA.
  21. Dickey looks good, maybe the later inning demons won't get to him tonight.
  22. lol that's true. He's better than Glenn Mastro Sierra etc etc but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Elite DFA pickup!
  23. Reimold looks dangerous at the plate, it's clear he has major league skills unlike the other scrubs. Skaggs is leaving pitches there to hit, though, so lets temper expectations.
  24. I forgot how reactionary the GDT is. The Jays lineup is bad but Dickey can show flashes on brilliance and Skaggs is looking hittable. Relax and enjoy the game.
