  1. what a great early career moment for judge!
  2. I thought there would be a real discussion. Almost forgot that the forum is in ruins and completely dead. Too bad.
  3. Ok so you think Shulman is better than the others at drawing viewers? Sorry but I disagree... he's monotone and boring, tonight's game has been terrible.
  4. Did anyone think he would give up less than 3 homers?
  5. Don't get me wrong, he's done well on ESPN and generally is good at his job. But for the Blue Jays, is he really a good fit? I find he's knowledgeable but a combination of boring and serious, which is probably what a lot of Blue Jays fans don't want IMO. This is noticeably rubbing off on Buck as well. I'd prefer someone who is a little more relaxed... Tabler obviously, or where is Darrin Fletcher? He was great.
  6. Pearce has been replacement level. Carrera has contributed a bit. Plus we know Pearce has some injury concerns so he should be splitting time.
  7. Ha. I'm not so sure it's black and white that the team needs to tear it down immediately. It does seem like they should be sellers, but if they think they can contend next year it is possible but the FO will have to get very creative.
  8. Ya I don't think it's much of an argument. Though Vlad Jr. is shaping up to be a great prospect, he's not Moncada.
  9. I don't know. He seems a bit washed up to me...career high K rate and career low walk rate and clearly he is a little bit prone to injury and is 34. Is this the guy we should be relying on? I guess if we're tanking, he could be a plug while he's under contract.
  10. So they waited for his father's day promo and DFA'd him shortly after.
  11. Hopefully this means Pearce does not see a RH ever.
  12. Pearce seems to have a pretty bad approach at the plate this year. They shouldn't put him anywhere near leadoff until that improves.
  13. Been really impressed with Tabler tonight.
  14. He could be but I doubt it. Steamer does seem pretty elementary to be honest.
  15. Yeah far from out of it. Weren't they a game under .500 (or something like that) at the trade deadline in 2015? Though their run differential was the best in baseball, or close, at the time.
  16. How does Biagini get a C+ and Joe Smith an A?
  17. Same that sucks. Really don't want 500 level since it might be the only game I get to this year. Oh well. Thanks BTS
  18. Hi forum, Trying to get tickets for Saturday June 3rd but there's not much available. Do you wait and test the scalper ticket market or try to buy them on stubhub where they are currently wayyy too much? Thanks.
  19. http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/7218-David-Price-Undergoes-MRI-After-Elbow-Soreness
  20. Huge concern for the Red Sox: "9:48am: There is “serious concern” that Price may require Tommy John surgery, Bowden tweets. 8:46am: The Red Sox are holding their breath after sending in key lefty David Price for an MRI, as Jim Bowden of ESPN.com reports (Twitter links). For now, Price will just be held out of his next scheduled start while he heads for a second opinion. The broader outlook is not known, but manager John Farrell says there is concern given the degree of soreness Price is experiencing. And while it’s far from clear whether there’s reason yet to believe he could be headed for surgery, the veteran lefty is already slated to see one or both of the game’s foremost Tommy John experts — Dr. James Andrews and Dr. Neal ElAttrache — for a second opinion, per Tim Britton of the Providence Journal (via Twitter). Price, 31, signed a record-setting seven-year, $217MM with the Red Sox last winter. The agreement includes an opt-out opportunity after the 2018 campaign. He has earned only $30MM of the total thus far; needless to say, Boston has a lot riding on the lefty, both now and in the future. While his first season with the Red Sox didn’t pan out quite as hoped, with Price recording only a 3.99 ERA, he still managed to throw a typically robust 230 frames. Boston has hoped that he and newly added starter Chris Sale would provide a historically excellent 1-2 lefty punch, with reigning AL Cy Young winner Rick Porcello rounding out a top-flight front of the rotation. If the worst case comes to pass for Price, then the club does have three arms to round out the staff — Eduardo Rodriguez, Drew Pomeranz, and Steven Wright (assuming all remain on track with their respective health issues) — but little in the way of certainty beyond that. Boston president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski previously shipped out veteran Clay Buchholz, but he has expressed confidence in the team’s remaining depth." https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/03/david-price-undergoes-mri-after-experiencing-elbow-soreness.html
  21. I do. Lots of people do or they wouldn't have them.
  22. Great bargin bin FO! Bringing their Cleveland roots with them!
  23. Why is it obvious? Teams make stupid decisions like this all the time especially if depth is short, which could happen if a few injuries occur. remember Chien-Ming Wang?
  24. Really I was more talking in terms of talent and ceiling. Obviously guys like Carlos Martinez or Carrasco (among others on the list) are a terrible comparison. Tanner Roark makes sense. But how many similar failures have there been? I think the odds are pretty stacked against him. Maybe worth giving him a look, hopefully they don't roll with it if it seems like he can't actually start.
