  1. lol thank you
  2. We know the Rays have no money. Maybe they cheap out on good researchers and use fangraphs because it's free? This then leads people to think their front office is the smartest.
  3. They'll probably pick up all of them. McGowan will get another look.
  4. He's hitting .285 and has almost 30 steals. His bat has been helpful but I agree his defence has seemed to hurt at the worst times. He was the win streak killer in May if you remember.
  5. Do you? Really? There's nothing else for you to watch? Like better MLB games?
  6. I'm not a fangraphs dork but 2.7 WAR isn't bad. He's been a nice offensive addition.
  7. He hasn't been that bad. Are you blaming him for the missed playoffs? It seems that some guy was too busy with Gyros to make any moves in the offseason or the deadline.
  8. Pure genius: "Who should the Jays bring in for the 8th inning?" And have a bunch of multiple choice answers that include bringing in Cecil only for Ortiz, etc. That would be interesting.
  9. I dunno. He's a fiery Latin guy who has won a world series. I think he's worth a shot.
  10. Call me crazy but Ozzie Guillen would be a good fit with this type of team. He's had some controversies but he's proven he can win with the right team.
  11. If the Jays had Joe Maddon, it's possible they could be doing worse. Who knows?
  12. The O's announcers are annoying. They should throw at everyone now and set a statement going into next year!
  13. Yeah but what does "most valuable player" really mean? They got less than stellar performances from a lot of their offensive players and he was a breakout star who's kept them close.
  14. Sorry, you don't need to pick a fight here. Kershaw was a no-brainer for me, I didn't put IMO after so it came off differently than I anticipated.
  15. All this debate but it is still subjective as noted every season. Nobody can have a real valid disagreement with who should win it assuming the player is at least in the conversation. For me I'd still choose Kershaw and Brantley despite pages of debate.
  16. I just mean that clutch framing is implied if you give more weight with 2 strikes. Based on your explanation, it seems the same as saying a player is better because they hit better with RISP. What if a pitcher throws breaking balls 0-0 and Navarro doesn't botch them? Is this accounted for?
  17. Didn't read the whole thing yet. It seems like "clutch framing" is built in since you give more weight to framing with 2 strikes. But apparently there's no such thing as clutch hitting so should I read the rest?
  18. I think you have to go with Hamilton for that. I'm just surprised you like McCutchen or Stanton over Kershaw for MVP. It's the same story every season as to what exactly an MVP really is, but Kershaw is doing something more historic than JV even though he has less innings and wins.
  19. Their lineup might take a hit but their SP could improve quite a bit.
  20. Is he really though? I mean if you look at fangraphs you say yes probably. If you watch him play and look at some of the results based numbers you might say otherwise. Defensively he hasn't been too sharp this year (going by word of mouth I don't watch many LAA games). All around his standard offensive numbers aren't eye popping relative to some other players. I'm not arguing either side here, but I don't think it's a guarantee he's going to win.
  21. Ok, Kershaw is a no brainer I think if you base it on the year JV won it. Who's really close in your opinion? Kershaw's exceeded his performance, he just won't get the wins or innings Verlander got because of the injury. I just don't see another player who really deserves it.
  22. Kershaw is a no brainer. If Cleveland makes a late playoff push I'd love to see Brantley win it.
  23. Maybe they'll sign someone. I wonder how much Robertson is going to get but he'd obviously be an ideal target. I can see the Red Sox going hard after him though.
  24. Valencia is a good player. It's frustrating because he's not quite good enough to be a starter on a contending team, and thus they will decide to give him an everyday role next year.
