  1. I don't think they're using pitch framing yet. I could be mistaken but I know that the projections did not include it. Still, my point was that offensively that lineup is terrible, especially for the AL East. I find it hard to argue against that.
  2. Isn't this framing stuff still sort of in the development stage? I can buy that it's very important but Steamer wasn't using it before the season started.
  3. Hey too bad you're trying to be negative for irrational reasons. Buchholz has been hit extremely hard this year. If he shuts them out it will be the stars aligning. Lester quite possibly though.
  4. Disagree, that's an ouch lineup (I'm talking offensively) compared to the AL East. Sure it's better than San Diego's but that's not the point.
  5. There's not a lot of any fans except hockey. The Raptors drew a ton for their "feel good" story but lets be honest a high proportion of those fans were immigrants (specifically Asian or Middle Eastern), not surprising as the GTA has about 50% of their population being born in another country.
  6. I think the innings he's logged are taking a toll on his arm. He's over 30 and how many times did Leyland let him go 130+?
  7. Rays lineup tonight: Guyer Jennings Longoria Myers Rodriguez Forsythe Escobar Molina Ouch
  8. Yep. He struck out 5 in a row at one point but otherwise was awful from what I saw. He was saved by some nice defense.
  9. Ya I don't know, bunting with your #7 hitter down 3 runs in the 8th... not sure why he did that.
  10. Papi hasn't seen him and nobody on base, may as well show some confidence in him. Ortiz has seen Cecil lots I believe.
  11. Is that true? I'm actually getting a bit worried now. I have no clue why it wasn't open on Mother's day, that would have made the fan experience a lot better on one of the better early season draws. Maybe something is up... in honesty I haven't bought tickets yet but if they don't open it this weekend I am not wasting my money watching a game at Tropicana 2.0.
  12. Yep, same here. I am planning to go Sunday and as of right now it's supposed to be mid 20s and sunny. If they don't open the roof I'm going to get a refund on my tickets and hit the golf course and not give a crap about the game.
  13. Not sure if this has been mentioned but I believe the Jays tend to draw better relative to other teams during the warmer months. People are hockey crazed regardless of who's in the playoffs, and few very people including myself like going to games before the roof is cracked. They'll draw more fans soon.
  14. Aussie football on tsn2 right now. Hendriks deserves a start solely because he used to play this.
  15. His "get me over curveball" was really helping him. Love that pitch, it looks like a slow hanger but they're just caught off guard. Beltre had a nice chuckle about it.
  16. I think the words were "one of the worst". This is cool to see. Wells is a pretty cool guy and a good speaker.
  17. I think the Cubs would hang up the phone if that was the offer.
  18. Bautista out supporting Mikey earlier today. Nice to see.
  19. I think everyone agrees Happ should be traded if possible. I'm just saying all of Rogers, Stroman, and Redmond are better and more deserving of a rotation spot than Nolin. IMO Rogers is the best option of the 3, but it would of course be more exciting to give Stroman a shot.
  20. Thanks. But is Kratz really considered a god defensively to you? I understand his low BABIP might be bad luck, but he's almost 34 and hasn't put up very impressive offensive numbers in the majors, albeit in only 400 or w/e ABs.
  21. Oh I missed that part. I give him credit for digging deep into pitch framing, but I still find it hard to believe Kratz can be a 4 WAR player. Although maybe he was talking about it being over 162 games instead of regular FT catcher.
  22. Pre-season Steamer had him at 3.2 over a full 162 games, so I'm not sure how you're getting those numbers. For what it's worth, Navarro was around 2.9 over 162. Beyond the numbers, I like Kratz but I'm not sure how much I'm buying into his bat. He's not a bad hitter at all, but I prefer Navarro's approach and ability to make contact... maybe the JPA strikeouts are biasing my opinion.
