  1. Oh it's on the sportsnet ticker. Must be news!
  2. This is seriously not even news. The Jays are always in discussions. There is no way they outbid teams who don't care about overpaying to get a good, proven player. Melky is a maybe, and after that I'd say Jed Lowrie is the next best player they could sign.
  3. Makes sense. Really it seems like he's trying to clear payroll and replacing Happ with Estrada might be an OK option. I still think there's a lot of moves coming in the next 2 months.
  4. Elite offensive team? Lots of work to do for that.
  5. For what it's worth, Time Dierkes on MLBTR is predicting the Jays sign Melky, Francisco Rodgriguez and Jed Lowrie.
  6. lol. I literally just started using twitter. Give me a break.
  7. Wow didn't realize that Estrada's projected arbitration salary is $4.7.
  8. With him, McGowan, and likely Janssen gone, is Cecil the longest tenured Blue Jay?
  9. I really hope Smoak isn't an everyday player. Is that asking for too much now?
  10. Posted in other thread, but this is the trending one: Thole option picked up, Morrow declined.
  11. Morrow option declined. Thole picked up.
  12. You have 1,182 posts. I wonder how many exclamation marks you have!
  13. Now McGowan's option (and Smoak's as expected) are declined.
  14. He has a chance to become a good late inning pitcher. That doesn't make it a good deal, but at least the bullpen is improving.
  15. That's true, but Estrada brings more versatility than a reliever. Overall I agree, it's a pretty bad deal considering they basically swapped Lind for Smoak and Estrada and saved what like 1 million?
  16. You guys are overreacting a lot. You were hoping for a good reliever, and Estrada might be one, assuming they turn him into a late inning role, which I expect. Unless Happ is dealt.
  17. Maybe they'll turn him into a late inning reliever? I could see that, he's always had pretty solid K rates.
  18. Well, at least the Jays seem to be the most active team 3 days into the offseason.
  19. I was thinking that, but that's a bit too hopeful IMO.
  20. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/11/astros-nearing-deal-for-adam-lind.html It originally said Astros I think. So we'll have to see. Wonder who they could get from the Brewers?
  21. You could be right. I had an inside source tell me that was a load of crap, but hey, that doesn't prove anything either.
  22. What's your source on this? I think this might be the most mistaken belief about J.P. Ricciardi.
