  1. I hope this is a bad joke. You'd rather have McCarthy who's started over 25 games once in his career?
  2. The Sox will add a big name pitcher, anyone who thinks they are done with major upgrades is hilarious.
  3. I do not agree, but they are both poor options.
  4. Viciedo might get non-tendered now. I'd say he is worth a look (primarily as a DH) if the Jays want to spend elsewhere.
  5. Wakamatsu was awful in Seattle. That would be a terrible hiring IMO. Edit: Although maybe he has learned a thing or two since then?
  6. The Jays need to take some risks. Bruce has more potential to put up a huge season than any hitter in FA except Cruz who is about 6 years older.
  7. Braves shopping him, asking price said to be higher than for Heyward.
  8. Would be a great target. Love that classic uppercut HR swing, wouldn't be surprised to see him lead the MLB in HR one year.
  9. I get that you like Molina's defence. But he has no more pop, very slow, awful at putting the bat on the ball. Maybe his framing is good but you can get younger, more useful backup catchers for a dime a dozen which is why they DFA'd him. I mean do you really want to carry a 40 year old backup catcher on the roster just because of his defence? Terrible idea IMO.
  10. The Reds are listening to offers for Jay Bruce. Has anyone mentioned this? He would be a really interesting target, left handed power bat who was horrible after his injury last year. Could make for an interesting buy low candidate.
  11. His bat has gone really downhill. Thole is probably a more talented hitter at this point in Molina's career.
  12. When I read that a couple of years ago it said 52, has it changed? That would make sense, I do not see the Jays as an 87 win team right now. Regression from wikipedia: Wins = 52.7 + 0.97*fWAR That's probably where I got it from. So 47.7 makes sense.
  13. I think he'll be around 170-180 for 6 years. Either way, probably a better investment than Shields.
  14. I don't know, I think Scherzer gets over 6/150 for sure, but that's just my opinion. Shields closer to 100/5.
  15. Shields is a guy to be worried about. With his declining strikeout rates and age I don't know how anyone can be on board for paying him 20/year. You're better off just ponying up the cash for a Scherzer mega contract IMO.
  16. Hayes!
  17. Beat me to it. I do not know how credible Blair is. Anyone know?
  18. They are pretty biased and Matt Devlin annoys me. Appreciate Buck and Tabby!
  19. The thing is, Miller is clearly has a higher ceiling. I do not even think that's debatable. But as we often see talent doesn't pan out.
  20. Haha that took 10 years.
  21. This is great news. You can do worse than giving Sandoval a bunch of money, and at least the Jays are serious about adding another bigger free agent.
  22. I do not think I would make that trade, but I agree with Ang that I like Miller more than Hutch. Going forward I think Miller has the better career, although Hutch is definitely the safer option.
  23. You guys are crazy. Who cares? The Jays have almost nothing on the books in a few years, it's ok for a mid-high market team to have a couple of bad contracts. This move makes it easier for the Jays to hopefully add an impact outfielder and a starter or at least some bullpen help. I don't see what the issue is.
