    What's the rationale behind adjusting the DL minimum to 10 days? Sounds like it could be a bad idea... someone sits out for 5 days and then goes on the DL retroactive and only has to sit out 5 more days? That sounds like a cheap way out to call guys up for shorter periods. Although I'm sure there are a lot of different effects, anyone have some insight?

    I don't know why some mods locked the EE signing in Houston thread. Terrible move, change the title and let people discuss it FFS. Anyways, although it seems to be a false rumour I don't think 5/115 is that steep. Free agent costs are clearly rising really fast, in a few years it might not even look that bad and you're bringing back a Blue Jay legend to what should be a competitive team in terms of payroll spending. I'd have no problem with it.

    Funny how a year ago you'd get flamed for making this thread for the opposite reason. Sanchez still seems dicey with his control sometimes but he has (and always has had) much more potential. Last year might have been just the tip of the iceberg.

    What is this based on? I'm not even a huge WWE fan but I know enough about it to realize that they actually have some of the brightest fans- a lot of the more knowledgeable fans look at it from the business standpoint of how they book their matches. It's actually extremely interesting the way they write the show and a lot of the hardcore fans realize this- it takes someone a bit different to really appreciate the show, but those people are not dumb at all. Like someone said, there's idiot fans in every sport (or "show" in this case). Before you say it's scripted or whatever obviously everyone knows that lol.

    Couldn't be more wrong. I'm not a huge fan myself, but there is a lot more in that sport than "beating up" one another. Those that understand the sport are extremely knowledgeable.

    BTS is one of the main reasons the board has shown weak growth relative to its potential over the last few years. Many core posters will defend him and say that his insight is an important component, but I think many prospective posters (including some that I know personally) are driven away in part because of the annoying, regurgitated crap that gets posted- not just by BTS but by others as well. The results are obvious- the Jays have had huge success but board activity is lower than it should be. The inability of some posters to interpret some advanced stats and dismiss original ideas has made the board difficult to digest. This is my observation and I am just being as honest as I can because I do like the potential this place has going forward.

    We'll see. Everyone is acting like it's a foregone conclusion he's gone. I agree it's likely but he probably takes a shorter deal now and could be back.

    Of course this makes sense. Did it make more sense a few years ago to keep promo giveaways on Sundays? No it did not. This is just one of many examples that show how awful their marketing staff is- at least they are adjusting. They often put no thought into their advertising, promos, pricing, and so on. Disgraceful IMO.

    Pearce will be 34 and barely eclipsed 100 games in his career one time- what makes you think he's a productive player over a full season, if that's what you're saying? Sure if the team is looking to squeeze value maybe, but if they plan on contending they need to do better. Signing Pearce to be a starter is a terrible idea IMO.
